dchmela (695), Orlando, Florida, USA Jun 30, 2008 Thanks to Pepsican for this and packing materials. Pours out a nice copper color with a thin white head. Hoppy slightly doughy aroma. Taste has a nice malty backbone and is balanced with a nice amount of hops. This is an easy drinking ipa that is not an over the top hopbomb. Tasty.
fredandboboflo (471), East Setauket, New York, USA Aug 25, 2008 Bottle, notched with August. Probably best by? Aroma of toffee, coffee, overripe fruits, and dry-hopped notes, citrusy as it warms, mango even. Flavor brings out more bitterness from the hops, but is quite pleasantly balanced. Malts become toastier. Sort of like a revved up ESB. Not too shabby. LilBeerDoctor (475), East Setauket, New York, USA Aug 25, 2008 Bottle courtesy of pepsican. Pours a dark orange/brown with a small white head. Aroma of bitter Cascade hops. Flavor is mostly pale malts with some cardboard. I don’t know if this bottle is past its prime, but only a hint of the bitter hops remained in the finish. Kind of bland tasting. Not bad per se, but I wish it was a little more flavorful. pineypower (863), Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA Aug 23, 2008 Thanks to Pepsican for this one. Pours out a clear amber color with a light head. Some citrus hops on the aroma. Taste is well balanced, some citrus hops and sweet malt notes going on in the background, slight hop bite on the finish. Skyview (2806), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Aug 10, 2008 Sampled on draught at the GTMW ’08. Pours a semi-clear coppery amber brew with a thin and fast dissolving off-white head that dissipates to a thin white ring. Aroma of caramel malt, citrus zest, and a touch of grassy hops. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonation with flavors of dry caramel malt, citrus and piney hops with a slight fruity background. Finish is semi-dry with a mild bitter and a fruit aftertaste. JB175 (1325), Holland, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 5, 2008 Bottle thanks to pepsican - this one has a nice looking golden color with an aroma of straw and citrus. Flavor is mildly hoppy with some smooth maltiness. Decent finish. Not bad, especially for an Iowa beer.
