COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pale Ale's on the coasts of this country are turning into hoppy monsters, but our beer is more mild, and about balance. It has enough bitterness to match the maltiness provided by the pale malt base. It gets its citrus zing from extensive dry-hopping with Cascade hops. This beer was first made in a few small test batches in 2003. The response was so incredibly positive, that it has worked it’s way into a year round beer. A hoppy IPA in the central plains... how exciting!

On tap at the Millstream Brewing Company beer garden. Maybe it was the fresh pour from the tap, or maybe it was the weather, or something like that, but I really enjoyed this on my recent Sunday visit to the Amana Colonies. So this is a relabelled version of Warsh Pail? It seems better to me, a fuller body, fuller mouthfeel, and more hops. The body is medium copper colored with a light khaki head. The aroma has some just-sliced grapefruit and light bread crust. There is also some nutty character. The taste has some out-of-the-oven bread crust with some light orange peels behind that. Very quaffable and quite likeable, a decent ale from Germans in Iowa.

UPDATED: MAR 26, 2014 On tap at Boonie?s on the Avenue. Aroma of pale malts, bread, and citrus bitter hops. Average body with a crisp, dry, smooth feel. Mild sweetness.

Medium amber, hazy with a decent amount of white foam. Aroma is a pleasant citrus and warm bread. Grainy mouthfeel and malty sweetness could use a better balance. I could swear there’s a slight film left behind in the finish.

I really wanted to like this one a bit more, being from Iowa, and not getting much millstream anymore. But, alas, it wasn’t very good, wonder how much corn was used in its production?

As much as I love Mill Stream Brewery this one is a bit rough around the edges. Not bad if you love IPAs.

Bottle. Pours a hazy straw yellow with some white head. Decent citrus hops, fairly malty, possibly old/stale. Overall a nice beer, one of Millstreams better beers.

Not much aroma to this. Pours a brownish red with fully diminishing head, excellent lacing. The taste is a slight bitter. The body is medium, the texture creamy, the carbonation lively and the finish bitter. I think this is a good beer just sat on it too long.

Pours hazy gold with lots of minute suspended flocculation. Aroma is piney and herbal (basil, maybe rosemary). Flavor is sweet with a nutty character as the malts warm, transitioning to a very sinuous hop brightness with a mildy veggie note. Flavor drops back to a subdues nutty malt in the finish, with a bit of grass and a slight bitterness. Really nice.

Tap at CID airport tap house. Pour is almost clear amber with a small white head. Aroma is light chemical and soft hop notes up front with a light caramel malt note. Flavor also with light chemical, faint hop, and the same light, off tarty fruit taste of the octoberfest. Definitely a line problem here; or maybe a problem of too much detergent in the glass cleaning. I don’t know what it is, but it’s not right. I will have to revisit this later.

12oz bottle 9/29/13 (Hy-Vee Cedar Rapids)-40° in Shaker-Pours a murky orangish amber with a small white head. Aroma of roasted malt and hops. Taste of hops, malt, and citrus. This medium bodied brew is not bad.

Nothing blows me away... Just a pale...would be awesome on a hot day at the brewery in Amana ...but here on Illinois it's just ok ... Drinkable but in no way memorable...in no way ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
