COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The name Schild Brau means essentially 'Shield beer' in German. This is our Flagship brew, a Microbrew done in the style of the special beers of Munich. This beer is brewed in the style of a Vienna style lager. This style was first developed by Anton Dreher in Vienna in 1841. He used a new type of sweet caramelized malt that gave the beer a wonderful reddish, coppery color and a juicy malt character. Word soon spread to Germany where this style of beer became immensely popular, and stronger versions called Marzen or Oktoberfest were soon made. Our beer uses these same malts to attain a perfect balance between malty sweetness and a firm bitterness. Our Hallertau hops are imported from Germany give it subtle spicy flavor. The repeated awards that we have received for this beer only confirm why many people consider this beer to be synonymous with Millstream Brewing at its best.

Golden amber, little head w/ some spots of lace. Typical Millstream character--sweet w/o much in the way of hops. Drinkable but like all their beers theres nothing special.

Pours amber with a tan head. Has a macrobrew aroma, I dont know how else to describe it. This beer is easy to drink, but not much out there. Some light caramel malt flavor. Not much in the way of hop aroma. This may be a good transitional beer, but not not much to crave here.

Pours a golden carmel with a thin white smell of bread and yeast with a hint of fruit....Taste is bitter yeast dough mess...this beer is a nice accent piece if you mix it with the stout.....

Orange-copper, puffy white head. Nose bready, bit adjuncty. Harsh, caramel, hoppy, off.

not impressed and certainly did not find anything to savor. poured an orange amber in color with some caramel and spice aroma. after that just a thin watery liquid without much character.

Clear deep amber-copper color, just a bit towards the brown side. Slight head, minimal lace, absent any real aroma. Decent caramel malt flavor and easy to drink, but there is a spice and alcohol presence (both of which linger into the aftertaste) that seem a bit out of place.

A majestic thanks goes out to caneyehavefourbeers, hehheh, for this one! Has a sweeter candy armoa. Orange brown in the bottle without any sediment. Slight haze. Head fades to nothing after a few. Initial taste and impression is way higher than the 4.9% listed here. If it was me, Id say about 6 perhaps even 7! Somewhat thicker oily viscosity in this baby. Strong and wayward. Props across my tongue like an iron ore laden barge being driven by a tugboat against the flow in the ohio river someplace around beaver county. Wew, a little more personality than I care for in a vienna. Finish is almost medicine in nature. Yowzer, I think im gettin dizzy near the end of this bottle. Rude at times on the way down the throat. Some hops in there lurking around on the end. Comes off somewhat like a spice or veggie brew. Im glad I got to try this unique brew!

Dark ruby pour with very minimal head. Aroma is asparagus and cough syrup. Flavor is more like a mix of veggies with some red cough syrup and a bit of caramel. Viscous finish with minimal carbonation.
