BeerZack (116), Austin, Texas, USA May 4, 2008 Dark copper color with minimal head.
Sweet caramel, marzipan, some toffee, fig, hint of spice (nutmeg).
Pleasantly surprising flavor, much more subdued sweetness than the nose shows. Some mild caramel sweetness balanced by some dry roasted barley notes and just enough hop bitterness to almost cleanse the palate.
Medium-heavy carbonation, a bit stinging, medium body. Pretty drinkable.
kramer17801 (1846), sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 8, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a clear light amber body with a small fizzy light beige head that faded to a wispy film. Fairly minimal aroma of toasted malt, cereal grains, and a touch of hops. The flavor is mildly sweet with a toasty maltiness up front and a light crisp bitterness on the finish. Slightly grainy and a little thin, it does drink pretty easily. Mouthfeel is a little watery and thin with moderate fizzy carbonation. Not the best amongst the style, but drinkable. badbeer (391), Iowa, USA Jul 5, 2008 Pours a nice dark amber color, transparent, and had a white head; but the fact the head left with no trace brings it down. Smell of caramel and toffee. Sweet caramel greets your taste buds, paired with some toffee and a soft, earthy bitterness to even things out. Really well balanced taste. Higher carbonation than average, medium bodied. After finishing up a test, this one hit the spot nicely. I’d have another, but unfortunately this is the only one I had.
Worth a try. esjaygee (687), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Jun 8, 2008 Amber with a medium white head. Aroma of light caramel , sweet malts and light German hops. Taste is pretty light too, mostly of sweet caramel with a little hop character to balance it out. A drinkable and forgettable Vienna. ILoveNewBeer (76), Iowa City, Iowa, USA May 23, 2008 Pours a reddish brown color, head is a copper color. Tastes of hops, slight spice, and something that I know I should know what it is but I cant place it. Millstream never fails to produce quality beer.
