COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A true "Flussiges Brot" or liquid bread. Malted wheat is carefully blended with the traditional malted barley, and brewed with special hops to create a "Summer Fest" beer. Light and zesty in itself, the beer is served in a tall glass with a slice of lemon.

Bottle. Good looking beer but, for some reason just didn’t do it for me. I love weissbier but, this one, to me anyway, is kind of funky tasting.

Bottle. Thanks, Iowaherkeye! Pours very light and cloudy with a decent white head. The aroma is weak, just some straw and corn. Thin sweetness, a bit of lemon comes through. It’s a bit crisp with very light bready notes. Meh. Weak.

At the brewery at the Amana Colonies in Iowa. Draft. Yellow and cloudy, with very little head, so of course no lacing. Nose was weak, and what there was seem to be malts. A little lemon and banana in the flavor. Just a little bit of sweetness. Came with the suggested lemon. OK brew, even if not outstanding.

Described on the bottle as a wheat lager, this does have the low keyed, smooth palate of such a brew. Golden in color with a short-lived head, the aroma is faint and smells a lot like Wheaties with some lemon juice squeezed on it. A crisply carbonated beer, the wheat is what the flavor’s about complemented by some soft barley malt. No real sign of hops. A decent enough warm weather drink.

UPDATED: AUG 13, 2006 Pours light yellow with lots of carbonation and no head (bummer). A little bit of a malt aroma, very faint. The flavor is very light but surprisingly malty. This would be a good lawnmower beer. I think a lemon as the description suggests would hurt this beer’s subtlety.

Tasting at Immy’s. From bottle. Light yellow pour with no head. Nose has adjuncts and grain. Flavor is more adjuncts and light wheat.

Bottle at Immy’s Tasting on 7-22-06. Straw yellow. Nose is very faint - light grains/wheat and is semi-sweet. Taste is sweet, wheaty/grainy and not much else. Body is light and fizzy. Finishes much the same as it began. A bit uninspired, perhaps. Kinz hit the nail on the head with his assessment.

From Immy’s Tasting, courtesy of Secret Santa Eve! Pale yellow, faint specks of something that didn’t get filtered floating about. Little aroma. Light wheat flavor. Nothing offensive here, but this clearly seemed to be created as a "gateway" beer for macro drinkers. Must admit to finding it refreshing, and a good palate break at the tasting.

Small head, diminishing quickly. Clear amber brew with a light grainy aroma. Judging by the specks of whole grain wheat floating through-out the brew, I think they just crumbled up some wheat bread and added it to water. Not good but had to try at Immy’s tasting.

From Immy’s Tasting. Clear pale amber color with a thin white head. Aroma of sweet grain. Sweet wheat flavor.
