COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Millwhites Dabinett cider is made from apples grown and hand selected from orchards in the heart of the Somerset countryside. It is fermented and matured in oak barrels using the juice of whole pressed English apples. Named after a Mr Dabinett, these smooth, waxy and crisp apples originate from the Martock-Kingsbury area of Somerset. Free from harmful pesticides and chemicals, Millwhites Dabinett has a truly unique taste. This apple has an abundance of rich, sweet fruit aromas which lend itself to a medium cider with a well balanced, soft and full bodied flavour.

Cask. A hazy dark golden cider. The aroma has notes of apples. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of apples, leading to a tart finish.

From cask at Wenlocks Pours cloudy orange with no head. Aroma is mild apple fruity, vague sulphorish. Bitter to citric apple fruity with a light acidic note and dry sulphorish touch. Acidic and dry finish. Ends with a lasting slight acidic apple fruity note.

500cl bottle purchased at a local farmers market, consumed on 30 July 2009. Gold colour with a slight haze. Quite similar to the other two Millwhites ciders sampled immediately before - fruit forward, clean and refreshing (although at 8.0% too much liberal quaffing could be ill advised). A little drier and maybe a touch more tannin to give a somewhat firmer backbone. Pretty decent.

Bottled@ChrisO. Yellow colour, not much head. Aroma is mild apples and some slight fruity notes. Flavour is quite much the same along with some quite cheesy and spicy notes.

A Mes rate: barrel at Harpenden Beer Festival.
A slightly hazy bright yellow with a collar of white bubbles. Big eggy nose but the lovely Dabinett underneath sorts it out. The flavour is excellent. Big and fruity, just the right level of booze and the apples really are top notch. The dryness is utterly perfect. After taste is heaven. Just what I would want from a dry cider. All tart apple and light booze. Great stuff.

slight haze - color is light/golden straw. flavor of apple sauce and red delicious. medium acid, medium sugar and tannins are more drying than chewy (tea tannins). mid palate is a bit weak and lacking punch.
