COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rebelle is available in both bottle and keg.
In the year of 1472 at Beauvais, the soldiers of Charles the Reckless were faced with violent combat from the people of the village, led by Jeanne Hachette. Backed by all the brave warriors that the village could muster, she succeeded in driving back the Bourguignon troops. It is in memory of the famous heroine of Beauvais that Milly's brewers developed a beer of character, christened "Rebelle".

Bottle: An almost clear yellow orange colored beer with a medium sized white head on top that changes quickly into a sticky white lacing. Smell malts, wood, iodine, glue, dust, candle wax, cheese, dust and a hint of earth. Taste cookies, flowers, barley malts, clayish malts, caramel, some caramelised grains, some leaves, light bitter. Aftertaste is herby, malty, light bitter, hint of wood, dried fruits, grass and a light dry touch. Low carbo, soft but bit blown mouthfeel, medium body and a light creamy texture.

Amber beer. Like a leffe with lower alcohol content. Not great on it’s own but good with choucroute and sausages. Disappointing head.

5.5% hazy amber colour with no head, not much aroma and it was fizzy and slightly sweet.

Bottle sampled at Björn, thanks. Small and short beige head. Color of international lager. Tired malty aroma. Tired malty taste. Probably better than this rating as it was past its best before date.

Bottled. Hazy golden. Salty hay aroma. Mid dry with medium body and soft mouthfeel. Doughy with some hay and slight medicinal notes. Growing bitterness. Pleasant and relaxed.

Hazy amber color; small frothy head. Mild aroma, lightly metallic, some dirty water, some cork. Quite simple caramel flavor, with light residual sugars; ordinary bitterness. Easy.

A hazed amber ale with a thick lacing off white head. In aroma, pleasant barley sugar aroma, a bit maderized but still nice. In mouth, a smooth sweetish caramel malt with notes of honey and herbs, oily mouthfeel, not bad. 750 ml bottle at a nice restaurant on St-Sulpice Street in Paris (6e), 15 euros.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of fiulijn. Hazy deep golden with a white head. Lightly citrusy hops in the nose. Medium body, lightly sweet fruit, again a littel citrus - slightly oxidized. The finish is dry. 050211
