2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Straight amber, off-white head. A nutty dominance overtakes the aroma, peanut-like oiliness obstructing the malt depth a bit. Nutty caramel malt palate. Moderately carbonated, light-medium bodied. I don’t enjoy the balance too much, those hops seem to attack the malt with a hatchet and dry the hell out of it. It happens a bit too fast I find.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Subdued caramel sweetness and fruity malt flavors...Prickly carbonation awakens the tasty hop bitterness...Potent malt huskiness keeps interest going...

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JAN 11, 2004 Re-rate: A definite chlorine/chemical taste from my hometown water supply. Ughh. First rating: Had a pint on tap. Deep amber/red color. This ale has a deep rich maltiness in the finish that seems to last forever. It is easy to see why this is the owners favorite.
