A rich dark mild with bags of character from the lavish use of chocolate malt.

Light-medium sweet flavor with nicely rounded toffee notes, suggestions pf butterscotch and creamy caramel, nice brown bread, mellow dried fruits, berries. My Bottom Line:
Prunes and raisins segue into mild roast, earth and burnt sugars in this velvety, lean Dark Mild.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam circles the copper-tinged dark purple.
-The low prickling, smooth body and low gravity make for supreme drinkability.
-Flavors are beautifully integrated into one another.
-The fruitiness in the finish is juicy, reminiscent of fieldberries.

On cask at The Devonshire Arms, Cambridge.

Cask at The Hope. It pours dark brown with a small beige head. The nose is earth, leather, wood and a touch of chocolate. The taste is earth, leaf, leather, spice, light bitterness and some dark fruit with a dry, leathery finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. So-so.
