3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Leighton (6984) - London, ENGLAND - NOV 19, 2010
Cask at the Pembury Tavern. Pours opaque brown with a thin, beige head. Good aroma, with the vanilla notes just rising above the roasted malt foundation. Flavor is quite nice. Medium sweetness with semi-sharp, mineral malts, hints of ripe, almost tart fruits, vanilla, faint roast and very delicate hops. Light in body with fine carbonation. The finish seems to be sweeter than the initial taste, with all the preceding characteristics in addition to some maple syrup, along with some light warmth and hints of booze. Overall not outstanding, but very good.

Delicious flavors with black cherry, tobacco in the tannic finish, sweet black licorice middle. Excellent base of acidity and chocolate malt without being toasty. Absolutely delicious and sessionable.
