2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 muzzlehatch (4425) - Burlington, Vermont, USA - JUL 5, 2004
Sample at the brewpub. Damn I’m not getting what y’all are getting with this place. Light clear amber; sprucy nose, little malt...in the body, thickness, caramel, a light lingering bite, but fairly nondescript.

Flight on tap at the brewpub (Milwaukee, WI). Pours a well hazed golden amber pour, some fiery orange glow to it with a decent sized frothy whitish head that dies to a spotty film, thicker ring lacing overall. Aromas are light oranges and lemons, touches of grass, florals, and crisp bready malts. Lacks a little bit of pop, but smells nice overall yet simple. Initial is lighter bodied with touches of dry floral bitter hops up front, some grass. Middle moves quickly into some crisp bready and cereal grains, lighter. Backend offers more bitterness, touches of lemons and subtle notes of grapefruit, citrus, and grassy/floral elements. Fairly clean with some lingering bitter hops. Pretty enjoyable, lighter fare with a small kick of bitter American hops into the finish.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 badgerben (4253) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - JUL 30, 2004
Amberish color with a good sized head. Aroma of strong hops and spice. The taste is quite hoppy, but a large blast of malt that balances it out. Very solid pale ale and quite tasty.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 JK (3964) - Uptown, Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - AUG 9, 2009
Amber color. Well balanced with hops and malt. Some sweetness from the malt. The hops that are there do taste good, but there are not enough of them. This is however, a well balanced beer, good for a session.

This is a classic pale ale. It is full of tart hops that bring out grapefruit flavors and some bitterness. A touch of malt.

Draught at the brewpub. Slightly hazy. Orange color with thin white head. There was some lace on the glass after I drained it. Pleasant flowery hop aroma. Tastes mostly of flowery/citrusy hops without a strong malt backbone. Moderate bitterness that lingers. Pretty tasty.

Draft at Milwaukee Brewing. Pours an attractive reddish-orange with a fluffy and persistent white head. Nose is citrusy and pretty fresh, light toasted malts in the background. Clean. On tasting, moderate bitterness, good citrus hop flavor with balancing malt. Quite nice overall and worth drinking.

Gusher of a bottle. Extra lively floaty laden amber with a large slowly dissipating rocky white head. Aroma of grapefruit, grain and orange. Taste of caramel and pale malts and citrus. Body is over-carbonated but balanced and has a mild to moderate bitter finish. Ok.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 1FastSTi (3150) - Glendale, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 9, 2005
UPDATED: JUN 11, 2006 Poured to a bronze/copper colored body with a rocky white head and excellent lacing. The aroma has some good APA characteristics. Pine and grapefruit hop with some decent malt. However, the aroma is a touch weak. Perhaps it’s the glassware/bar atmosphere. The flavor is nicely hoppy, some malt. Typical APA. The palate is rich and full, smooth. A good beer in the APA family.
