COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A full hop regiment attributes to a fresh citrus aroma and earthy flavor all balanced by lightly toasted malts. Not long ago, workers would be called to their union mandated beer breaks with the pull of the chain activated steam whistle. Beer bucket boys would hustle cold brew out to the workers before they returned to the production line. Our Pull Chain Pail Ale is a tribute to the working men and women who built this great city. Back to work!

This is a refreshing and very drinkable pale ale, with good pale malt flavors, and a really nice hop character in flavor and aroma. This beer is hopped with both American Cascade hops, and British East Kent Goldings. Pull Chain Pail Ale pours to a hazy amber color with a nice white head, and a soft carbonation. The nose on this beer is quite aromatic with good citric hop aromas, and a nice underpinning of pale malt aroma. The palate is soft with flavors of pale malt, a touch of caramel malt sweetness, and ripe estery fruit. Pull Chain Pail Ale finishes with a nice, snappy, zesty citric hop bitterness that lingers. This is a very quaffable pale ale, with a nice biscuity malt base, a nice back drop of caramel malt, and good hop character in both aroma and flavor. With its soft malt palate and weighing in at only 5% abv, Pull Chain makes for a great session beer. I could literally see myself drinking this stuff by the pail. And why not? It is out of this pail or bucket of beer tradition, that modern brewpubs give us the half gallon jug known as the growler. Pull Chain is a food friendly beer as well. I would match this with a number of dishes, from grilled bratwurst, to burgers, to fish and chips. If you ever find yourself in Milwaukee, WI, head down by Water Street, and check out the Milwaukee Ale House.

I really liked this beer. In fact, I had several last night at the Ale House. The picture of the beer on the left does it justice. The Pull Chain is a orangish/brownish and pours with a slight bit of head on the top. The taste was my favorite part - very hoppy with some malty aspects. It leaves a similar aftertaste as a German pilsner with a little more earthy tones. A great beer to drink all night or to enjoy on its own.

One of favorite beers from the Milwaukee Brewing Company. On tap at the Milwaukee Ale House ($2.50 imperial pints at happy hour - 4-7pm weeknights!) Brewed at the facility just a few blocks away on South Second Street, so you know its always fresh in Milwaukee. Has a citrus (possibly lemon) aroma, with real strong flavors - it has a real bite to it.

A deep-hazed dark amber with red highlights (that could have been from the stage lights...) and a creamy cap that laced all the way down. Heavy hopcit aroma with noticable sweetness and grapefruit, but not much else. BIG, sweet malts in flavor with BIG citric hops. IPA-worthy, if not IIPA-worthy. A little watery in the mouth, but a really awesome beer.

(A previous rater mentioned that the Ale House seemed more interested in being a "hot spot" than a "craft brewery". It seems to me that the owners (if not the brewers) like to let loose and offer/enjoy some entertainment. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. I am one beer drinker that likes to enjoy a good beer with some great live music. I’m sure it would be a totally different experience had I visited during the day, but I don’t regret my visit nor begrudge the management for wanting to draw a crowd on a Friday night.)

On tap at the brewery with ground hops on top. With the extra hops the aroma was extremely floral. A copper color with a lasting head. Good hoppy taste with a bitter finish. Never had a beer with hops on top so that was cool. Good beer.

Pours a light copper with a puffy white head. Sweet fresh hoppy and sweet pale malt aroma. Body has a nice thickness to it with good complexity and hop flavor. Fresh crisp clean finish with a light fruitiness. A very nice APA.

Amberish color with a good sized head. Aroma of strong hops and spice. The taste is quite hoppy, but a large blast of malt that balances it out. Very solid pale ale and quite tasty.
