Growler I wasnít sure exactly how to classify this Lager- yes, it is a lager. After tasting, Munich Helles Lager seemed to be the closest style. California Common was a close second. This is the first beer brewed from their new brewery. Pours a brown (duh) body and off-white head. Good carbonation. Great Malty aromas and nuttiness. Big flavors of malt, caramel, with some chocolate and toffee. Very impressed!

The nose is dominated by toast, but in the palate--while toast is present--buttered oats come foward along with a mildly malty-hop finish.

All I could notice was diacetyl everywhere. Pours to a brown amber body with a thin white head. The flavor was diacetyl, peanuts, brown malts. The aroma is faint with some malt and simple nuts. The palate is average with a lingering sweetness. Not very good.

Originally placed at: Milwaukee Ale House Regatta 2004-2005... I am going to assume this is a reincarnation rather than a "new" brew. If not then I can always relocate this review. Solid brown color with a moderate creamy, off-white head. Lightly toasted malt and hints of herbal hops. LIght malt sweetness in the front that leads to a dry roasted nutty flavor. Some english hops in the middle and finish. Fairly dry in the linger, again with some hazelnuts and a mild bitter bite. A lighter version of Louise, with a touch more hops. This is one you could sit around with for a while and not have to think about too much.

I agree with Ughsmash. There was way too much alcohol flavor here. Caramel and nutty sweet flavors as the beer warmed, but it became almost sticky in my mouth as the beer warmed too -- not a good thing.

On tap at the Milwaukee Ale House. Poured clear reddish-brown with about zero head sticking around. The aroma picked up chocolate and nutty sweetness upfront with darker fruits as it warmed.. some dry herbs, and way too much alcohol apparent considering the ABV. The flavor had nutty notes and milk chocolate with warmer dark fruits on the back.. tangy, somewhat sour finish with dark fruits and some herbs. Lower carbonation on the palate with acetyl sharpness in several places.. warm, tacky finish.. medium-bodied. This just wasnít very good.
