We took a batch of Louie’s Demise and added a bunch of Rishi’s Organic Blueberry Rooibos and Hibiscus Tea blends to our secondary fermentation vessel. After two weeks of cold infusion we filtered out the tea, carbonated it. It has a blueberry and strawberry nose with a slight malty aspect. Hints of Caramel and Munich malts come out as the beer warms. The flavors are subtle with the Hibiscus at the forefront of the palate. The tea blends add a smooth but tart finish to this beer. This is definitely a different beer.

I like the carbonation. Big blueberry muffin aroma. Semi-sweet blueberry flavor. Blueberry really comes through, not muted. I like it

Aroma is blueberry muffins in a bottle. The flavor is similar to the aroma, along with mild sweetness and fruit tartness in the finish. Pretty good and unique.

On tap at Milwaukee Ale House. Poured crystal-clear, fiery orange with a well-retained, sticky beige head.. looked great! The aroma picked up fresh blueberry and herbal notes over soft pale and caramel malts.. I loved the tea infusion. Blueberry tea led the flavor department, and re-filled the nostrils.. caramel and pale malts gave some support.. sharp and not entirely pleasant herbal bitterness stuck on the finish.. a bit disjointed. Light-medium bodied and strangely bitter on the palate.. filling carbonation.. just an OK feel and flow.. this started out better than it finished.

MKE brewing has been making good beers lately. Living in Milwaukee, I was admittedly one of their biggest skeptics in years past. Over the past 2 years or so, I’ve had several very good beers from them. Based on the description and bottle, I had low expectations. However, this beer is quite delicious. The aroma has very potent blueberry notes, so I was worried it would be way too sweet. The flavor is not overly sweet, though, and this is a very sessionable beer. The base beer is just OK, but it allows the blueberry tea to really shine. It’s a nice option for a hot summer day.

Draft at Milwaukee Brewing Co. Per head Brewer, this started as an accident when they watered down a back of Louie’s demise. Rather than dump it, though decided to add the Blueberry Rooibos tea and voila!. Anyway, pours a deep golden amber with a frothy head. The nose is Huge blueberry nutrigrain bars with some other light berry notes. Some soft malt and faint herbal hops? On tasting, more of that sweet and fruity blueberry caricature. Pillowy malts that lend a good amount of body. Interesting beer, overall.

On tap at the Milwaukee Brewing Co. Pours a hazy amber brown with a tan head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma is full of ripe sweet blueberries with a bit of backing sweet grains. Flavor has a combination of blueberry and sweet grains with the blueberries taking over in the finish.

12oz bottle shared by Brian. Unfiltered orange-tan, murky. Foamy, soapy white head. Big sweet blueberry pie aroma. Flavorful, but a touch artificial. Straightforward, OK.

On tap at The Tipsy Cow. Orange color with a definite blueberry and malt aroma. Taste is interesting, tea and flowery flavors stand out with a good malt bill. Some caramel. Light body. Very refreshing, like a Malty version of a shandy with tea instead of lemonade. Very refreshing, easy drinking good for lunch. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Light, too light. Very watery finish. Although it does have a nice nose and taste.

Tasted from bottle. Pours a hazy amber with off white head. Too much carbonation caused huge foamy head. Strong blueberry aroma with a little bit of strawberry. Flavor is quite unique. Blueberry, floral, caramel notes with faint tea flavor that would not have been noticed if not known. Moderate sweetness with almost no detectable bitterness. Nice tart finish. Interesting and pretty good tasting beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
