COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Complex flavors and aromas come from a variety of sources. Barley malt and wheat help create a smooth body and attribute a pleasant golden hue while the addition of malted rye and oats brings out a solid earthy flavor. Czech Saaz Hops help create a citrus nose. What makes this beer truly special is the Saison Ale yeast strain used to ferment this beer. The subtle hints of tangerine, peach and licorice are the hallmarks of this particular yeast.

I didnít think this beer was too complex. A lot of flavors kind of blended together. Not bad.

Bottle. Pours a hazy orange amber with a creamy off-white head. Slightly sour fruity aroma. A pungent spicy kick to the flavor with a perfumy aromatic character that is unique, but not necessarily pleasant. Lacks the tart brightness of a good farmhouse ale. Too highly carbonated.

On tap at brewery. Golden pour with disappearing head. Citrus aroma. Very fruity complex taste. Good bee and seems unique.

Light amber color with a slight citrus flavor. Very tasty. I would recommend this. Mmm.

Bottle as part of a variety pack. Orange brown color with a very slight haze and a creamy white head. Spicy yeast aroma with a hint of sugars. Flavor is more spice with a yeasty bite and a bit of creamy malt to smooth it out at the end. Light-medium bodied with a smooth palate. I donít normally like farmhouse ales but this one goes down pretty nice.

Guest tap at Emmettís, Downers Grove. Autumnal brown with a one-finger parfait head. Spicy wassail nose, a bit of fig and yeast, too. Malt and mouthfeel is light, but it has a dose of caramel roast, augmented by coriander, sage, and some European hop backbone. Touch of cider at the end. Goes down very easily.

12 ounce bottle as shown. On that topic, I love the bottle design. Itís a sort of joke, or a sad, dual personality flop. On the one hand, thereís a bland label, something that may get produced from the Microsoft "Beer Label Making Wizard," if there were such a thing. On the other hand, thereís a name thatís starved for attention. "Booyah," set it down with a *thud*. So which personality will the beer itself have? Thee label or the name? Unfortunately, the beer matches the personality of the lame label design. Itís bubbly, run-of-the mill, fruit and citrus flavored saison. Subtle fruit aroma, orange color. Itís easy drinking, but nothing to recommend to others.

Bottle at Chancery in Mequon. Pours orangey brown with little head and leaving little lacing. Aroma has some floral fruit and some earthy old beer store. Taste is of spice, including some coriander, and some citrus fruit with straw. Finishes fairly quickly and dry. An easy drinker on a hot day and about what I was expecting as a "saison". More earthy than I would have hoped.

Aroma is mildly spicy yeast, cream and a hint of fruit and malts. The flavor is citrus, berries/grapes, a hint of spice and a tart and malty finish.

On tap at Old Fashioned, pours a clear golden with a thin head, the aroma has some fruity touches and yeast, the flavor has a ton of barnyard funk with must, kind of dirty tasting, really didnít dig this one all that much.
