COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Complex flavors and aromas come from a variety of sources. Barley malt and wheat help create a smooth body and attribute a pleasant golden hue while the addition of malted rye and oats brings out a solid earthy flavor. Czech Saaz Hops help create a citrus nose. What makes this beer truly special is the Saison Ale yeast strain used to ferment this beer. The subtle hints of tangerine, peach and licorice are the hallmarks of this particular yeast.

On tap at the brewhouse. The aroma wasn’t too great. Some decent flavors and spiciness to it, but pretty thin.

Bottle. Pours a hazy orange amber with a creamy off-white head. Slightly sour fruity aroma. A pungent spicy kick to the flavor with a perfumy aromatic character that is unique, but not necessarily pleasant. Lacks the tart brightness of a good farmhouse ale. Too highly carbonated.

12 oz. bottle, consumed on 6-14-14. Labeled as "MKE Booyah Farmhouse Ale." Fruity, sweet aroma features scents of caramel, orange, lemon, butter, farts, heavy cream just starting to go bad, vinegar, and dust. Some tonic water-like dryness in the aroma. Smells like boozy white grape juice or cheap, strong, Eastern European white wine. A touch of Band-Aid chemical quality to the smell. Pours bronze with a small amount of grayish beige head. Light to moderate effervescence. Nice color. Liquid is mostly clear but with a lot of very tiny suspended particles that create some haze. Herbal, spicy, vegetal, dry taste features flavors of lemon juice, caramel, alcohol, Christmas-y spices (spruce tips, pumpkin spice), pumpkin, black pepper, celery, apple cider, shortbread cookie with caramel or Twix without the chocolate, and spicy meat. Dull, dry aftertaste. Medium body. Frothy in the palate. Unremarkable palate effects. Booyah is a decent beer, but it probably could have used more time in the bottle to develop (I purchased this only about a week ago, and I don’t have any reason to believe it was sitting on the shelf for long). It is enjoyable beyond what this score likely indicates. It seems to have been crafted in a heavy-handed way, without a soft touch. It is also a little sweeter than ideal in aroma and flavor. Ultimately it is more interesting than it is good. There is a lot to it, but it doesn’t all come together all that well. On the other hand, it is far from a disaster.

A very very mediocre farmhouse. Still easy drinking and refreshing, and there is something to be said for that.

12 oz bottle pours an almost clear red/amber with moderate white head and some lacing. Aroma has banana, spices, rye, and vanilla. Body is medium with average carbonation and a lively mouthfeel. Easily drinkable with nothing wrong, but far from one of the great saisons.

On tap at brewery. Golden pour with disappearing head. Citrus aroma. Very fruity complex taste. Good bee and seems unique.

12 ounce bottle as shown. On that topic, I love the bottle design. It’s a sort of joke, or a sad, dual personality flop. On the one hand, there’s a bland label, something that may get produced from the Microsoft "Beer Label Making Wizard," if there were such a thing. On the other hand, there’s a name that’s starved for attention. "Booyah," set it down with a *thud*. So which personality will the beer itself have? Thee label or the name? Unfortunately, the beer matches the personality of the lame label design. It’s bubbly, run-of-the mill, fruit and citrus flavored saison. Subtle fruit aroma, orange color. It’s easy drinking, but nothing to recommend to others.

Bottle as part of a variety pack. Orange brown color with a very slight haze and a creamy white head. Spicy yeast aroma with a hint of sugars. Flavor is more spice with a yeasty bite and a bit of creamy malt to smooth it out at the end. Light-medium bodied with a smooth palate. I don’t normally like farmhouse ales but this one goes down pretty nice.
