COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Full bodied, orange hued ale. A variety of toasted and caramel malts create a nice backdrop to the aggressive citrus and floral hop notes. Brewed with three different kinds of hops, this IPA is balanced by the oats added to the mash. The oats not only add an unexpected sweetness, but also a heavier mouthfeel.

Amber body with a small white head. The aroma is all malt, lots of caramel, toffee, and buscuit. There is just a hint of floral hops. The flavor is similar, mostly sweet. I assume this is somewhat old, should probably rate again.

Iím surprised at the rating so far for this one, because I donít think itís quite that bad. Itís certainly not a particularly good beer, but itís not a bad one either. As an IPA it misses the mark of the style, but itís still quite drinkable. Lots of caramel malty sweetness, with a tiny hint of citrus hops and mild bitterness. I do get a tiny hint of that metallic taste others have noted also. I wouldnít buy it again, but itís not terrible.

Golden pour with a white head. It has a herbal hop aroma. The taste is bitter with lively carbonation and faint touch of butterscotch.

Can (16 oz). Orange-Amber color. Citrus hop aroma. Orange citrus with grapefruit notes upfront followed by malt and some pine resin in the finish. Creamier mouthfeel than many IPAs. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Thanks to D&S. An old school micro brew IPA, hoppy but not a hop bomb like todayís IPAs. Decent drinkable stuff. rather malty. Serving: Bottle

16 oz. can. Pours golden orange with a frothy white head that settles to thin film and sticky lacing. Aroma is bitter grassy with faint line lemon rind. Taste is bitter grassy lemon lime zest. Palate is thin medium and finishes off putting.

Orange-red pour with a light beige head. Aroma is pine hops. Taste is a weaker hop flavor that seems to be more of a pale ale to me. More malty than hops. OK lacing.

The commercial description here doesnít mirror what the 16oz can says about using OATS. I can taste the oats. it rounds out the malt platform, giving it dominance in this IPA. It skews all of the Hop characteristics bar a few. This really should be updated here to include the descriptors about the oats. Who uses oats to balance an IPA? It seems weird to me but yet it is not entirely bad to drink. It is just different.

[Bottle] Bright amber color with a quickly receding white head. Nose is of grassy and floral hops. Malty backbone features biscuit and caramel. Astringent hoppiness of grass and pine also make an appearance. Prickly carbonation. Very mediocre.
