Draft at OF. Amber-brown color, thick off white head. Slight to full on Amber malt pungency. Spicy malt aftertaste with a touch of cream. Full of flavor. Medium to full bodied. Rather well done, pretty solid balance between the rich malt and soapy hop crispness. A quality beer, worth a try.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 prosqtor (408) - Appleton, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 6, 2007
This is, ounce-for-ounce, the best beer bargain in Milwaukee, and maybe the state. $6.99 a six-pack for delicious amber body, with lots of malts, and other flavors all combining for a great sum of the individual parts. I’m glad it’s not available elsewhere yet, because MAH would somehow ruin it by making too much!

12 oz bottle. Pours deep amber with a small white head. Aroma is nicely malty, biscuit, a bit doughy, touch of cookie sweetness, caramel and toffee. Flavor is much the same, lots of maltiness, sweet caramel and doughy notes. Finishes a touch hoppy and crisp. Medium slightlyu creamy body and a crisp carbonation. Good for the style.

This was first marketed as a Ockoberfert Ale. I see they now sell it as an amber export style scotch ale. I do like truth in advertising. Malty, yes. Slightly fruity, yes. Caramel and toffee sweetness, yes. I touch cloying, yes. This is unique as there are german hops used in an ale, but too sweet and not bitter enough for a alt. No style, categorically speaking, but a decent session ale.

Dark copper body that is more clear and pretty the picture of the pint glass shows. There are only traces of a head on top. The aroma is darkly roasted walnuts with some bread crust. There is also some old tobacco and a hint of orange peels. The taste has some light grapefruit peels and roasted almonds. There is also some toffee and tobacco. A well made amber.

This ale pors deep amber and gives off nice notes of the sweet malt. The beer is quite smooth with notes of molasses and roasted nuts. It finished quite smooth.

Bottle 12oz. - Poured dark very cloudy amber color with foamy beige head, also alot of small chunks floating around suspended in beer!!
Aroma - Smelled of caramel malt, overly ripe apples and cider.
Flavor - Alot of toasted malt, caramel malt taste. Also had mild cider flavor that I liked. Reminded me of a apple jolly rancher with nice bitter finish.
Palate - Medium bodied with somewhat creamy texture. Carbonation is lively and finish is bitter and short.
Overall - Surprised that I liked this beer. I would buy again, it’s cheap and has nice flavor!!

This is my Lawn mower beer.
Pours a amber/red with with a minimal head.
Smells of nuts, toffee, butter, and slight hops.
Taste is easy going malt, with a little toast, hints of hops, and no metallic aftertaste (thank god).
All in all this is pound for pound my favorite lawnmower beer, and at 6.99 a 6 er it’s a great deal.
