COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An amber ale with exceptional balance and smoothness. Brewed with a blend of specialty malts. Balanced by a choice blended of hops. True story... 1886 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, great uncle Louie was cracked over the head with a beer glass and killed. Louie’s story is one of many Wisconsin tavern legends that gives life and color to our heritage. Drink one for uncle Louie and remember: today’s barroom story might just be tomorrow’s legend.

UPDATED: DEC 19, 2006 A very drinkable amber ale with a bit more flavor than you would expect. Nice crispy hoppiness and toasty carmel flavors that makes this brew very drinkable. Available in the bottle locatlly in Milwaukee.

Looks a lot like a red beer. Remninds me a lot of McEwan's with a little bite to it. Not a real strong flavor, but I like the bottle, so it gets bonus points for that.

Pours clear copper-red with a thin off-white head. Cerealy aroma with brown sugar and dark fruit. Flavor is light, sweet, and bready with earthy hops in the finish. Some metallic/grassy notes are detected as well. Pleasant with fruity touches around the edges, this is a decent beer but could improve with a fuller body. Jason (JCapriotti) sent me the bottle.

Pours a dark amber with a sizeable head. Aroma of malt. Pretty good balance between malt and hops with a touch of spice at the end. A decent offering.

Pours to a large head; carmel color. Nice toasted smell. Mild, roasted flavor, slight aftertaste of the similar flavor. Easy to drink. Not bad.

Good looking beer. The body’s a deep amber with ruby highlights and it sports a thick & creamy khaki head. The aroma contains fruity, juicy malts with some fresh toast. Caramel and more fruits are present in the flavor along with a mild spiciness. A touch of earthy bitterness mellows the drink out, making it a decent, sessionable ale.

UPDATED: JUL 16, 2009 Mildly hazy deep amber with a thin tan head that meets its demise fairly quickly. Aroma of heavy caramel, fruit and lightly toasted malt. Flavor is heavy on the caramel with dark fruits and not much in terms of hops though a mild bitterness does come through on the finish. A bit oily and grainy and dry on the finish.

(02-15-08 = 8-4-7-3-13)Draught at the Gasthaus. Nice dark amber color with pleasant aroma. Nothing good or bad about palate. Beer had nice flavor and I enjoyed this beer and would try it again.
