COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An amber ale with exceptional balance and smoothness. Brewed with a blend of specialty malts. Balanced by a choice blended of hops. True story... 1886 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, great uncle Louie was cracked over the head with a beer glass and killed. Louie’s story is one of many Wisconsin tavern legends that gives life and color to our heritage. Drink one for uncle Louie and remember: today’s barroom story might just be tomorrow’s legend.

12 oz bottle. It pours a hazy reddish brown with a thick, foamy slightly off-white head. The nose is pretty simple, some raisiny fruits, caramel, and perhaps some alcohol. The flavor doesn’t go to far, there is a thick walnuttines and caramel flavor, also some alcoholic twang. It is okay, but nothing exciting really. 12 oz. Bottle - Pours a medium copper color with a creamy light head. Flavor is on the sweet malty side with a hint of caramel. Not bad, but nothing special.

Originally reviewed: 10/22/09. Poured into my pint glass. Pours a slightly murky copper color with a thin off-white head on top. Dissipates quickly leaving little lace in its wake. Smells of toffee, the woods, and big fresh sourdough bread. The body is full and hearty. Nice mellow crispness to this due to a moderate amount of carbonation. Very mellow bready flavor with a touch of honey on the finish. Bitterness is low on this one. Slight sweet quality to it. I really like the aftertaste. Like I just ate some fresh-buttered dark bread. With the low ABV, I could drink a few of these. Good beer.

Smooth beer. In between their pale ale and IPA. Light-medium body with a hop foundation but nothing strong.

Pours amber with a faint head and sweet caramel on the nose. Earthy notes as well help to complement the red ale. Taste is sweet with a bit of bitter notes at the end. medium body with ab it of an oily finish.

Bottle. Orange amber pour with a small amount of sediment - huge light cream colored head that held shape for several minutes. Mild aroma of sweet caramel. Medium palate. Taste is smooth caramel malt, just a touch of sweetness - very drinkable. Taste isn’t quite as good as it warms, however, very nice representation of the style.

Pours a hazy amber/ruby color with a medium tan head...nice lacing. Aroma is very malty...light fruitiness, doughy, a bit wheaty, and some faint leafy hop notes. Flavor follows suit but is more leafy and less doughy...tastes like mildly hoppy tea...mild toasted malt and a hint of caramel. Mouthfeel is a bit thin and the finish is earthy and mapley...like dry leaves.

Poured a nice red/amber with a light fine heade and lacing that lingered throughout the drink. Aroma was of sweet malts with a slight fruitiness twinge. The taste was of malts with a slight roast hue and moderate hop finish. Palate was decent. Overall, a decent amber lager.
