Created by our brewer Kurt Mayes, O-Gii is a collaboration with Milwaukee’s own Rishi Tea, infusing Asian character to this monster wheat beer. The name is our nod to the brewing abbreviation OG, which defines the potential for alcohol level prior to fermentation.

Tasted from a pint can. It poured a cloudy golden amber with a frothy white head and spotty lacing. Pungent banana aroma. You gotta like tea to enjoy this one. A high octane Belgian White.

Poured from a 16 ounce can, thanks to my sister. The aroma is tropical fruits, soft wheaty tartness. The wheat is more noticeable in the flavor. There is a big tropical fruit note as well. This is a high alcohol tasty beer.

Wow. Lemon soufflé urinal cake nose. Interesting. Bread dough, light egg funk, reminiscent of a gueze, and lemon fo sho. Smells a little rotten. Light and zesty with average carb. Taste has a little diacetyl tone. Lemon soufflé and egg funk. Very metallic and buttery. Diacetyl lemon dough. Fail. 2.1

UPDATED: DEC 7, 2014 Drunk straight from the tall boy can(s). Tastes kinda weird but not in a bad way. I’m always up for something creative as long as its not offensive, and this isn’t. After drinking the four cans I kinda felt like an OGii, the only thing that was missing was hoes, guns, and a bouncing 62 Impala rollin round the cona. Best thing since gin n juice was sold in the same bottle.

16oz can 11/28/14 (Jewel Mix A Six)-38° in Tumbler-Pours a hazy yellowish green with a small white head. Aroma of citrus, wheat, coriander, spices, and tea. Taste of the same with more tea in the flavor. This light bodied brew is an interesting twist and still comes across tasty.

GOld pour with a tight white head. aroma is wit, corriander, wheat. light banana flavour is all wit on the front of the palate. wheat and spice, banana transitioning into a more complex spiciness, nutmeg, light ginger even through the middle of the mouth and finishing with an over steeped bitter tea lingering in the finish. No trace of the 9%

Can shared by Brad. Odd fruit aroma. A little malt, but very little wheat character.

UPDATED: JUN 29, 2014 Tap at Ginger Hop. A light head sporting wit that doesn’t actually taste like a wit. Heavy on alcohol both at the onset and finish. Why does a wit taste this way??? Almost seems dependent on its alcohol presence. No focus on flavor. Nearly a harsh finish. I suppose if you need a strong beer, it’s an OK option.

Not bad they seem to have chosen the spice route and leave the fruit out of the equation. I think for this style of beer at least a hint of fruit is crucial. Everything else about this beer is pretty good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This pours a hazy, copper amber color with a slight head. Slight citrus taste with a bit of wheat. The flavor is a little boozy and sweet and puts off more of a grapefruit than expected. Interesting and different but not what I expected for its style.
