Enjoyed via a bottle from the cash bar at WMSE Food Slam 2012. The smell was very metallic - like blood, pennies and wheat. I was excited to try this milk stout but due to the defects, it tasted like a nut brown ale. Like peanuts and metal with a watery consistency. I have not had many problems with MKE beers, but another friend had the same issue with theirs that night as well. Bad batch or bad beer? I’m not sure if I want to roll the dice and try again.

Bottle. So, I don’t know if this beer simply sucks, or the source it was obtained from was bad. This beer was quite metallic in flavor. And the smell also metallic. Perhaps some bad water? Anyway, the beer was barely drinkable until some hot Anodyne coffee was poured into the beer to salvage the $5 price of the beer at an event. I digress, I know, but I will not be drinking this beer ever again.

Terrible. Tinny taste bad aftertaste thin dry lacking lactic qualities couldn’t finish a bottle.

Probably one of my favorite beers that I’ve tried from Milwaukee Brewing Company. Dark pour with a tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate, roasted malts, and some coffee. Light body and easy to drink.

Deep black color with a small but firm tan head. Aroma of semisweet chocolate and dark coffee malt. Flavor is creamy dark coffee finishing to an earthy bitterness. Medium bodied with a light tingle of carbonation and a lingering earthy finish. Delicious and satisfying.

On tap at brewery. Very dark pour with dark lasting head. Coffee, caramel and roasty aromas. Sweet taste and nice smooth mouth feel. Very good milk stout.

On tap at the brewery. Coffee aroma. Dark color with little head. Balanced and not overpowering. Velvety mouth feel. Sweet finish. Average milk stout. Great tour.

Aroma is roasted malts, fruit and sweetness from the milk. The flavor is roasted malts, milk mixed with chocolate and a tart/twang in the finish.

A rich, dark, bitter beer full of flavor. I enjoyed this on a condo deck of the Milwaukee River. A classic.

Is this the same as their milk stout? I think it may very well be... still not too shabby.

Had this a while ago, but my rating for it vanished.... So, as best as I can recall, a very mediocre milk stout. Not too much to this one.

Had this beer at the 4th Annual Casanova Beer Cave Festival. Awesome chocolate coffee scent, outburst of coffee flavors.
