2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle poured a clear reddish amber with a lasting amber head. Aromas of carmel and light earthiness. Palate was light bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, earthiness and a hint of fruittiness with a smooth lingering carmel finish.

This is a pretty generic ass beer. Some light malt flavors, no hops. It really lacks any character whatsoever.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle from State Line. Pours dark straw at bottom to medium copper on top into my Stone Levitation tulip glass. The head is off-white and small, going away quickly and staying away. Nose is vienna malt, brown sugar, heavy butyric acid. Tastes somewhat sweet, with notes of vienna malt, nuts, brown sugar, an overall sweetness, and a light palate in density and heft. Not a drain pour, but not great.

1.3 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20
Pours golden brown decent vanilla head. Aroma is truly disgusting...the consensus was sweaty bread. Palate is not quite so evil but certainly not good either. Watery bland caramel bready with a bad sweet chemical note that overpowers the more you sip. Trev thought this may be infected. I recall that the Lazy Mutt had the same gross trait and the bock beer did as well. This is just a bad brewer all around makers of Mountain Crest effluent as well.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
UPDATED: DEC 30, 2013 Bottle from the Minhas brewery gift shop in Monroe, WI. Pour doesn’t look all that amber, more of a pale gold. Very minimal white head. Nose is a little carmel funk. Fairly light and watery palate. Taste is caramel malt, grain, and maybe just a tick of metallic character. Not very good.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottled. Poured clear lighter amber with a short cap of whitish head.. looked OK. The aroma picked up semi-sweet honey and vegetal notes with accents of green apple and light grassy hoppage. The flavor found sweet honey and partially-composted veggies at the core.. residual sugars and sharp carbonation on the edges.. finished with not-all-that pleasant sugars. Lighter-bodied and well carbonated on the palate.. sharp at some times and tacky at others.. not a good beer.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle: Pours a transparent orange golden with a cligny-lacing white froth of head. Aroma of lightly sweet and grainy malts with a hint of noble hops and light fruity tartness. Body starts with a faint sweetness and lots of grainy malt notes without much bitterness and a mild watery finish. Drinkable but very bland.

0.7 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20
Bottle and served in a standard pint glass: Well it is indeed amber hued with a small fading frothy head, minimal lace. The aroma is just like the "Farmhouse Ale" except the Diacetyl and corn vapours are even stronger. Nutty buttered bread and you get what I mean. Additional, this has a note of lacto sourness as well, it is nearly vile and putrid. Yep, sweet caramel malts wrapped in corn husks and finished off with a chemical plastic flavor enhanced by tart apples and sour milk twang. The mouth feel is lively enough but it is ultra thin bodied. One more till I am done with this beers from this crappy brewery. AVOID this like the plague, the Swiss should sue for character defamation.

Bottle. Yep .. it’s amber all right. Fizzy. Super malty. Bit of a fruity flourish, but moderate and middle of the road all the way. Clean and made without imperfection, but neither outstanding in any way. (#5164, 7/6/2013)

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Sampled on draught at the GTMW ’08. Pours a clear copper amber brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that dissipates nearly clean with a thin white ring. Aroma of caramel malt, some fruity character of hard pitted fruits, pears and a touch of apple. Taste is light to medium bodied, plenty of carbonation with flavors of light caramel malt, some fruity pears and citrus zest. Finish is a tad watery with a pear and caramel aftertaste and a mild bitterness.
