The grand daddy of them all, Imperial Jack - robust, malty and heavily hopped. Who said "jackrabbits" donít bite?.

Iím not sure how you could make a beer this bad accidentally let alone intentionally. No aroma whatsoever. Itís best quality is that it looks like a beer. Tastes of the dankest, funkiest hops possible. If you can use leftover stems to bitter a beer this is the beer that just may have done it. I give it a 3 overall because Iím pretty sure it isnít poisonous.

Bottle from Trader Joeís. Weird but not bad. Aromas of cereal, caramel, and some liquorice. Malty, with bitter notes. Not a typical DIPA.

Bottle labeled Boatswain Double IPA from Trader Joeís. Pours a clear golden orange with thin white ring of head. Aroma is pretty much lager year and malt, taste follows, no hops or booze really. Kind of like a big pale lager, Meh. This one might not even be worth the money.

sold as Boatswain Double IPA in a bomber with no date. I grace what I think is the lowest rated DIPA Iíve ever had by pouring into my Duvel Tulip glass. Nose is fresh weeds that just got mowed. Harsh. Iím reminded of Eastern European malt liquor or imperial pilsners. Mellows out with each sip. Now Iím wondering how this is 8.4% ABV. Malty backbone. Sweet for 75 IBUs and surprisingly not bitter. I really wish I knew the best by date. Bobby Knight in Rupp Arena is like &%^%$$& on a silver platter.

Tasted like an old Budweiser. Appearance isn't bad. Pours a deep, crisp, clear, caramel amber. Again, however, the taste is horrific. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pour out of 22 oz bottle, clear orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of cardboard, metal, some rotten veggie, acetone, butter, you name it it had it, this almost me gag even smelling it. Taste is foul, some cardboard, acetone, garbage juice and veggie with a side of butter, I dumped out about 99% of this bottle. Terrible.

orange pour with white head and lace. Aroma is sweet malt with a touch of sour. Sweet musty malt with a flat non descript funky hop bitter. Medium body with fizzy carbonation. a bad day at the brewery or a bad recipe or 6 months too long on the shelf. not so good

Bomber labeled as Boatswain Double IPA at Trader Joeís. I know some unkind things have been said about this beer and I donít entirely disagree, but for two bucks Iíd rather drink this than Olde E High Gravity.

Pours with a descent head and some lacing. It is kind of a hazy amber color, cloudy looking. There are faint hints of fruit, grass and hops but nothing really stands out. Pretty smooth up front and finishes kind of bitter with a bite of alcohol. Taste flavors of fruit, sweetness, hops, a little piney and some alcohol. I think this beer is an ok beer I would drink it again. At $6 a six pack itís a good deal.
