popephred (193), Plainfield, Illinois, USA Aug 29, 2008 Poured from the bottle into a pint glass. Pour produced a cloudy yellow body, topped by a small head of white foam which completely vanished, leaving the the ale with a flat, "off" appearance. Slight aroma of caramel, and that’s it. Flavor is slightly sweet and watery, with mild carbonation and mouthfeel. Some caramel notes to the palate with a very slight metallic aftertaste. Overall, this was not what I was expecting, no earthiness or grass notes that one would expect from the style. It’s almost as if this was bottled to soon, because this seems like it hasn’t fermented or aged properly. hogan873 (317), Joliet, Illinois, USA Aug 15, 2008 Pale, cloudy appearance with a very thin white head. Very light aroma of malt and maybe grass. Thin and smooth on the palate. The flavor is very bland, but not bad. Malt and a little citrus. Smooth finish, but there’s a slight skunky aftertaste. Not a terrible brew, but not that good, either. phishpond417 (1861), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Aug 12, 2008 Anything but a saison, this beer is a dissapointing representation of the style. light golden colour not the cloudy bright yellow unfiltered body one would expect from this style. Aroma is overly malted and stale- again no wheat or fruitiness. taste a little grainy with a hint of lemon, under carbonated as there is a trace of a head. Overall, i was dissapointed, and hope they figure out what went wrong this one. New recipe! thegreenrooster (1811), St.louis, Missouri, USA Aug 11, 2008 Pour is a bright gold with a large fizzy white head. Aroma is almost nothing. Some sweet grain is all i guess. Flavor is not much better. Some more sweet malt with a bit of citrus. Not a "farmhouse" but more like the shit house. Worst beer I had at the GTMW. Strykzone (1459), Wood River, Illinois, USA Aug 10, 2008 Cool name, reminds me of my dog. The dog on the bottle even lays like mine. Clear light gold with light carbonation. A very temporary white head. Nose is hop, yeast, and adjuncts. A disappointing beer. Not a farmhouse as the bottle says. Feels more effervescent than it appears. Tart with some honey, lemon, corn. I will remember the bottle and the name but not the beer. Baumgartner (108), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA Aug 9, 2008 Bottle poured to glass Clear yellow brew with a lot of bubbles relasing from the sides and bottom of the glass. Pungent sweat smell and sharp hop aroma. Sour tasting brew with a quick sour hop finish. Small white head that disipates quickly. hopdog (5527), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 26, 2008 12oz bottle. I was a ’little’ excited when I saw this; a Farmhouse Ale, must be a new saison for me. Alas, it was not to be seeing htat this is a Golden/Blond Ale. Poured a medium and cloudy yellow color with almost no head. Aromas of grains and some citrus. Tastes of the same. SSSteve (2047), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Jul 26, 2008 grainy pale lager aroma maybe a hint of butter, but nothing particularly exciting, and a cloudy gold appearance under a small white head. flavor is slightly tart/soured and metallic with a touch of lemon. grainy aftertaste. i have to admit the flavor is interesting and it’s worth trying if you find a single.
