pkbites (309), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Oct 24, 2008 Pours a cloudy pale yellow with a bright white head that dies a bit. I can’t place the aroma. Very sweet. Sugar cookies? Butter rum? Taffy? Homemade waffles? Either way, I REALLY like it! A perfect 10 for aroma! Flavor is buttery, yet a bit sour. But not tangy. Finish is a gritty, but after-taste is mild. Shame on you all! Lazy Mutt is under rated! shrubber85 (2833), Wallhalben, Germany Dec 30, 2007 Bottle. Musty grapefruit rind aroma. Cloudy yellow orange with minimal head. Slightly musty and sweet orange malt flavor. Very saison-like - a good drink. BrianHagmeier (257), Coralville, Iowa, USA Jul 31, 2009 This is a very drinkable beer. I don’t care what the reset of these, "want-a-be beer Nazi’s" think. I had finished the first beer (out of the kick ass 8 pack) before I had even finished logging on to ratebeer. I drank a second glass just evaluating it and am on my third as I write. Dont know about you...but I think that might mean somethen. weitz15 (67), West Lafayette, Indiana, USA Apr 10, 2009 Blonde pour. Citrusy aroma with almost a floral presence. The flavor is initially mellow citrus followed by a very sweet, honey-like flavor. I was surprised by the sweet flavor complimented nicely by citrus. Very clean, crisp finish. RSRIZZO (1345), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Sep 29, 2009 From a 12 oz bottle (courtesy of Headbanger) in a Shaker at 41°. Color is a pale gold with a light haze. Carbonation is very active with a small soft white head. Aroma is sweet with a little gain and maybe some vanilla. Taste is soft and sweet. Starting with a light body it goes down smooth. Finish has a light corn taste with a hint of hop spice and a very light bitterness. After taste is clean with a soft feel. Not bad for a basic Golden Ale. csbosox (1076), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA Jun 15, 2008 12oz bottle. Served right out of the tall beer fridge and served in a small snifter. Lemon and grassy hops are dominant in the aroma with a backing of light pils malt, maybe a hint of candi sugar. There is an omnipresent sourness or tartness that seems a bit out of place. Initial taste is sweet, lightly kilned malt, some sort of slight adjunct, some fresh citrus, and a slight spice. Citrus persists into the finish. It’s certainly a refreshing beer and somewhat tasty. It seems like a saison with out the saison yeast. I appreciate the attempt here, but why not shoot for an authentic farmhouse ale? SledgeJr (2957), Omaha, Nebraska, USA May 24, 2009 In the bottle from a HyVee Sampler pack. This was the best of the lot. Has a doughy and caramel like aroma with a slight dash of spice. Make sure that you swirl the yeast and get it into your beer, because this one is unfiltered. Totally nothing like a serious farmhouse or saison, but this is very drinkable and tasty in fact for a "blond." Has a finishing sweetness that I like with none of the vegetable off flavors that the other Minhas beers in this series seem to have. Perhaps Minhas should experiment with unfiltered beers more often? presario (2953), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Mar 8, 2008 12oz bottle. Called Farmhouse, listed here as Golden Ale and looks like a wheat. Cloudy dark yellow with thin soapy head. Thin dirty citrus and banana scent. Flavour is thin but not bad. Orange zest and banana. Balance could be off-Wheat or attempt at Saison-funkiness. Sourness becomes more enjoyable through the glass.
