2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
12 oz. bottle courtesy of Tmoney99. Pours a clear golden color with a smaller white head. The aroma is weak bready malt with some grassy and earthy hops. The flavor is a general pilsner with bready biscuity malt and mildly bittering hops. Eh...

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle. I didn’t expect much from this beer. But I was surprised. It was not as corny as I had expected. Decent citrus aromas and flavors. Not too shabby

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle. Not much in the way of foam or lacing. light yellow pour with a touch of gold. Sharp bite to it due to the carbonation. Mostly malt flavors but a bit of it is really a corn background. Inexpensive, but not something to go looking for.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: SEP 5, 2009 Can from Brookline Trader Joe’s. Tastes like Busch, but the can makes it worth every penny. The can looks like a generic beer found in a movie. It’s fantastic.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle from Trader Joe’s in Roseville. Brassy gold color with a frothy white head. Fairly decent aroma - but mostly grain. A bit corny as the glass approaches the lips. Near medium body with frothy carbonation. Not very much hop. Not very much point.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
12oz bottle(Trader Joe’s)-Pours a light amber golden with a medium ring for a covering for a head. Aroma of corn, sweetness, and slight malt. Taste of the same with a bit of diacetyl and hops thrown in. Not the best pilsner but at $5 a six you can’t complain. I’ve had worse.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pours golden yellow with a light white head. The aroma is a buttery diacetyl bomb that overpowers everything, but there is lightly sweet lager malt underneath. Medium / light body with sharp biting carbonation. The taste is like the aroma with a bit of spicy hops. This is fair at best.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pale yellow sparkling, viney heral aromas, sweet and light medium bodied, high medium effervescence. A lot better than expected. A sweeter bitter sweet balance than expected for the style.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
I picked up one (luckily) bottle of this at the Trader Joe’s in Orland Park, IL. It pours a clear yellow body with lazy bubbling, a thick head, and spotty lacing. The aroma is corn and sugar with so sign of the hops that a Pilsener is supposed to have. The flavor’s a bit better, being mainly creamed corn, sweet but not sugary. In lieu of a hoppy bitterness, this has mineralwater and tin. Not something that I’d care to drink again.

1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20
12 oz. bottles, tasted alongside Simpler Times Lager to see if there’s any difference: The Lager pours pale yellow, but a little more color than the average macros, lots of bubbles and a fizzy head. Pilsner shows pretty much the same color, but a longer lasting head and finer streams of bubbles. Both a have a sweet smell of corn adjunct wrapped around the unmistakable impression of wet peanut shells. By the time I get to taste the Pilsner, it still has its head, so there is something of a difference here. Taste is less of bad beer, but still not quite actual beer. Has slightly more substance, perhaps, but still over produced and not very pleasant. Impressions of shoe polish. Just another way for Minhas to fill a hole in its production schedule and further degrade the once decent reputation of Huber. The beers from Biersch and Schell’s that Trader Joe’s actually puts its name on at least have "beerlike" qualities.
