No retention and no lacing. Smells of sweet malt. Tastes of sweet grass. No aftertaste. A weak pilsner, but easy to drink and not offensive. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can picked up from trader joe’s. Pours golden, minimal head. Sweet nothing, chalk. Medium body. Metallic finish.

12oz can - Is there anything more simpler, than enjoying a beer while hanging around a fire with friends and family? That was the case here with this beer, and I didn’t even bother to pour it into a glass. Just wanted to enjoy it from the can, and it was decent. Price not coming into play here, it was a clean, slightly grassy beer with minimal offensiveness at cold temps. I’m sure if it warmed up it would be pretty awful. I enjoyed this one just a bit more than the lager. Good beer to hand out to those that just want "..a cold one".

Save your time and money. The beer is horrible. It’s cheap for a reason. No quality. ALL THE BEER is watery dish-water. Sure, one can buy this from Trader Joe’s for a low price, but really, what you get is nothing on par to quality. I’d rather put the extra money towards a pint or six pack of something more proven and worthwhile. This beer is made cheap for a reason and its to sell out. The owners, both non brew-masters by the way, just some trust fund rich kids, are slinging this dishwater to steal your money. I mean go on the website, it shows the guy walking out of his Escalade SUV and the interviews with him and the sister "co-owner" show the trust fund babies they are...both siblings are narcissistic and ridiculous. I would give this a zero rating if I could. i am really not "trolling" here. Now if you excuse me, i need to puke this beer up.

12 oz can. (Trader Joe’s) Greenville, SC.
Clear golden colour with a tiny white head. Sweetness, apple juice, some play dough and mild hops in the aroma. Very cheap aroma. The flavour is at least as bad... Ewww... this is Easter European cheap lager... Very bad.

Pours a golden yellow with a white head. Grass, floral and grain aroma and flavors. Light body and average carbonation. Grain and floral finish. Better that expected.

"hoping for a little more, both Simpler Times beers were in the drinkable on a hot day catergory. nothing more, nothing less. not horrible, but not what i look for in a beer, or pilsner, regardless of price. A couple of the better macros are actually better than this."

This stuff is kind of remarkably bad for the specific reason that it is remarkably metallic. It is clear orange golden in the glass w/ a huge foamy head. It smells kind of grainy and sweet, possibly slightly oxidized, with some grassy and earthy hop notes. It tastes like chewing on a brillo pad although, as you might imagine, the texture is a bit different this being a liquid and all. it is kind of simply sweet rather than malty and feels a bit thick and flat, which really doesn’t work for the style at all. While the initial shock of the metallic stuff wanes pretty quickly and this almost becomes drinkable, there is still a unpleasantly bitter character to the finish. It is so extremely easy to find tasty examples of this style (cheap American beer rather than Pilsener) that this stuff is just completely useless.

Golden pour. Small white head. Little lacing. Malt aroma with a slight vegetal note. Taste is the same with added floral notes.

Can. Pours a golden color with a frothy white head and lots of carbonation. Apple aroma. Sweet beginning and a bit of alcohol at the end. Cheap and not good, a drain pour for me. For simpler times, I can go get a bud or colors which are much better.

60 cents a can at Trader Joe’s. Not bad for the price, clean, clear and crisp pilsner. Plenty of adjunct grains here, a little light o aroma and taste, and no finish, but great on a hot day (it’s been in the 100’s here, so it tastes good right about now)
