3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
This is a fantastic pilsener for a fantastic price (at Trader Joes). I find this beer to have an interesting malt profile that adds to its quaffability. Great refreshing beer!

12oz can on 3rd May 2016 at my daughters place in California. Deep golden body, clear and clean looking, white head that faded fast. Not as bad as I expected to be honest, when I realised where she had bought the six pack, not that I have anything against Trader Joe’s or their beers. Anyway this was fairly sweet with a malty lead in both the aroma and taste, slight bitter, hoppy finish.

Overall this is an outstanding Beer, but @ $3.49 a six pack it blows the doors off all the hipster craft brews easily.

Normal. Easy to drink and a little creamy. Nothing special but not annoying either in any aspect.

Very simple beer but refreshing enough on a warm day. Wouldn’t buy myself but wouldn’t turn down either.

can. Golden with one finger head. Medium body with corn and grain, lightly sweet. Very light hops. Could pass for an AB beer.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Can - small foamy head, clear light copper color, sweet malty aroma and flavor, mild hop balance, a little more full bodied than expected, a step above your basic macro-like pale lager/pils

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Light, malty, smooth. Some bread and cereal. Earthy then a watery finish. Nothing special, but not terrible.

Probably not a can of pilsner. More like cheap aged pale lager. Rather rude initial impact. Gets better as the session continues.

1 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 1/20
The only thing pilsner about this beer is the color. The malt is sweet. There is bitterness but it is unlike any other pilsner I’ve had. And the nose is almost paint like. Strange. Outside the Russian beers, this is the worst beer I’ve tried. I’m pouring out the other five cans.

As far as cheap beer goes, you could do a lot worse than Simpler Times Pilsner. The malt isn’t too skunky and the hops aren’t too weak. Still, if this beer is supposed to make me nostalgic for "simpler times," I’m unmoved. I’ll stick to the present. Some things shouldn’t be simple. I like my beer to have complexity.
