Thin off white head with good retention and decent lacing. Lightly hazy, dark copper colored brew. Nose is faint with some caramel malts and a slight spice note. Body is almost medium, soft carbonation, lil oily. Flavors of some grainy malts with a lil bit of tangerine. Weird off flavors, bandaid, medicinal notes are faint but still obvious. Dry, astringent finish. Bomber from statelineliquors.

22oz bottle 7/2/12 (Trader Joe’s-Naperville)-Boatswain American IPA-44° in Shaker-Pours a medium amberish brown with a small off white head. Aroma of malt, grains, and slight hops. Taste of the same with a bit of a sopay taste. This medium bodied brew is not the best IPA but for the price I can’t complain.

Copper color with creamy lasting lacy head. Citrus & floral aromas. Medium hoppiness with definite malt in the background. Very smooth on the tongue with a crisp clean finish. Very refreshing IPA.

Bottle. Tastes like a malt liquor with hops. Good for malt liquor fans. Bad for IPA fans.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a large sized head of finely sized tan colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a very softly carbonated transparent copper brown colored body and a spiderweb lacing. The mild aroma was mild malt and mild hop. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The strong flavor contained notes of strong delicious caramel hops and malt. Delicious and one I would certainly like to have again.

On tap at SPSBF. Pours a clear golden orange with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of grassy hops with a bit of citrus and an earthy bread backing. Flavor is a bit thin with some light grassy hops with a light grain backing.

Sampled at St. Paul Summer Beer Fest. Hazy orange pour. Grassy hops with some caramel malt. Decent IPA, but not a standout.

Pours a darker golden with a white head. Aroma is more malty, but does have some fruity elements. Some mango, pine, and raisin. Taste contains more of the same, but is mixed with a very malty character. While this combination isn’t all that bad, I can’t say that it completely agrees with me. There isn’t really much of a hoppy kick that is common with IPAs. Piney aftertaste mixed with that unusual malt flavor and mango. Better IPAs can be easily found.

Malty base, leading to a generally hoppy finish. A bit buttery, some grass and citrus zest. Not a standout.

Powertrip (999) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - JUN 1, 2012
Single bottle purchased from a mom & pop store in Drumheller, Alberta on 06/01/2012. Colour: Light brown with minimal white head. Nose: Light drift of fresh coffee as I brought the glass to my nose. Big whiff generates huge caramel with suffocated roasted malt. Taste: High sweet, medium bitter, medium sour. There is roasted malt and hop presence enough to bring out bitterness, but the sugar is so dominant that I could not even finish the bottle. The more I drink Minhas products, the more I personally believe the Minhas brothers care only about getting their products in every genre of beer, making what money they can from it, and completely neglecting truly making quality crafts.
