2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bomber, Boatswain American IPA, Trader Joes in Tally. Orange pour with thin off-white. Aroma is toffee, butterscotch, malty. Tastes are caramel malts, maybe a little grass. Sweet, candied. Not horrible, but they would’ve been better off labeling it as just "beer" for 2 bucks and not "American IPA".

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
bottle of Boatswain American IPA from Trader Joes. Amber with small head. Very mediocre IPA. Pretty strong malt base and dull hops. At least it was cheap.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Consumed under the moniker of Boatswain American IPA. Powdery, lightly sweet, nutty?, vague caramel aroma without much in the way of hops. Not an AIPA aroma at all, but OK. Standard US bomber, throwback label with 1800s typesetting. Clear, dark tea brown, an extemely clingy, thin, saltine-colored head. Metallic and overbrewed, moderately sweet. Medium body, loses carbo. *Weeps* - it was only $2.49 for 22oz! How can you screw that up?!?!? Trader Joe’s, Tallahassee.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
bomber from Trader Joe’s in Santa Rosa: it’s clear and rich burnt orange with about an inch and a half of web-y, fluffy foam. It smells mostly of caramel. The taste is caramelly sweet with a slightly sour brown note; some aspirin type bitterness dries out the effect slightly.

This beer is alright - nothing special, just a decent beer to enjoy on a weeknight.
