Fiercely hopped and hopped again, Thumper IPA keeps on going and going. Does it tantalize your tongue?

This review is for Underworld Brewing "American India Pale Ale" Pours a hazy copper with a decent head that sticks around. Appearance would be a 4 without the haziness... Aroma is pleasant and fresh on top but contains a musty unfinished undertone... tacky. Flavor is unbalanced and comes at you from weird angles: Sour, then sweet, then bitter with salt... bletch... Finish is oily with lingering bitterness... Will not buy again.

Bottle. Pours deep golden with an off white head. Aroma of floral and herbal hops with some caramel and malt. Flavor is sweet and malty with some biscuit and floral notes.

Bottle, 22oz. As Boatswain American IPA. It pours a clear, pale amber body with a dense, two-finger off-white head. The aroma is sweetish and caramel-ish, with some flowers, grass and perfume. Rather sweet on the palate, some caramel flavor, as well as grass and some faint orange notes. Medium to full body, soft carbonation. Lasting sweet finish. Not very bad this one, but as an IPA it fails. At least in my book. Too sweet and not enough on the hoppy side. 130810

This review is for Boatswain American IPA. I bought this at Trader Joes because it was $2 for a bomber. I got what I paid for, it's not very good, I've made home brews that tasted better...and I'm a horrible home brewer.

Bomber from State Line. Hazy straw orangy pour with nose of orange marmalade, hops, caramel malt. Tasted of caramel malt, cloying fruit, hops. Mediocre.

Deep Copper Color, Huge Bubbly Head Leaves Lots Of Lacing. almost nothing, really faint malt aroma. Sweet, malt caramel, just a hint of hops. Pretty much wrong for the style. Pass It.

This great looking golden brown IPA has a very mild aroma. It has that typical hop bitterness but it doesn't go overboard and is well balanced with a malt smokiness. 650ml for $1.99 is a great deal ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Mine is Thumper American IPA like in the picture, but no Minhas to be found. Rhinelander. An inexpensive bomber. As pretty much everyone says, this isnít an especially good IPA. It certainly isnít fiercely hopped. But that doesnít mean itís a bad beer, just a poor example of the style. Decent body. Fruity hop flavor, but low bitterness. Aftertaste is a bit like sucking on a piece of candy.
