Tap at cbm jimbocho terrace. Clear gold color with a nice soapy white head. Very malty and biscuity nose with some light floral notes. Slightly creamy on the palate. Medium body but feels a little to malty. Some fruit esters as it warms up. Not bad.

Bottle. I was sure I had rated this at some point in the past... Fruity hop nose, grassy, sour, and stinky., and maybe some diacetyl. Peachy/amber color, slightly hazy, thin filmy head. Malty and farily rich initial, rough citrusy mid palate, some grain, and a light balanced finish. Good stuff. Maybe a bit too fruit juicy for the style. Some ususual aroma hopping. Label says "Saaz" -- but it smells more like Nelson.

Bottle 330ml (Kyoto)
Golden color, small steady white head, some lace. Malty, a bit grassy aroma. Light to medium-bodied. Malty, clean palate with German nobel hops in the flavor. Some sweetness too. Stylish pils, not ovely hopped but well-brewed.

Bottle from Utobeer. Slightly past its best date (they really need to sort that out in Utobeer). However, it’s held up very well. Colour is a touch of haze, toasty apricot/amber, bubbly white head. Nose is light lemon citrous, cereal grain, slight sour acidic notes. Taste is quite soft and funky, cereal grain, musty grain, slight orange citrous, grassy and straw notes, lacks that crisp lager tang, which maybe down to age, although I don’t mind that. Slight bitter and sour tang at the very end, but it’s sweet, cereal grainy and acidic on the finish.

Bottle. Enticing aromas of hops, hay and light fruit. Golden bronze, medium head. Light and fine carbonation. Well-balanced flavours of grass, sour peach. A touch of soap. Overall very well done- a fine pils.

5% bottle from Yamaya near Kyoto City Hall. A bit of a fruity, hoppy aroma it almost hints at a Belgian yeast being used. The taste is grassy, bitter a bit rough. An ok pils but not that much to style.

Light haze on this bright gold beer. Good white head. Palate is softish with mild minerally carbonation. Soft malt, little cream. Mild lager yeast. Nicely integrated mellow citrus. Touch of sweet tropical fruits. Mellow hop bitter finish. Nice pilsner, very drinkable.

Mild plum aroma. Caramel malt flavor, not much else. Average but drinkable local pilsner.

Botella. Unclear golden, small white head. Aroma of some malt and fruitish hops, some grain too. Ok mouthfeel. Mild like flavour, malty with some fruity hops. Mild bitterness. Bit flat like. Simple pils.

My Bottom Line:
Crisp and fluffy, this Pilsener juxtaposes mild herbal hops and dry hay until delicate spicy bitterness slowly establishes itself.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam covers the clear straw yellow.
-All flavors could have been more engaging, but there were no other issues to report.
-Mouthfeel was pleasant dry and drinkability quite high.
-This was much better cared for than their cask Bitter that evening. It didn’t feel rushed out at all.

On tap at Beer Belly Tenma.
