Opaque dark brown beer, little pale tan head. Light palate, a little dry. Medium dark malt, touch of coffee. Mild minerals. Dry finish. Pretty standard stuff but all right.

Bottle poured a clear dark brown with a small lingering tan head. Aromas of roasted malt, carmel, cocoa and light fruittiness. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of roasted malt, dark chocolate, earthiness and light vanilla with a smooth lingering roasty finish.

Lubiere (11588) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 18, 2009
A deep dark stout with a thin moka head. A nice coffee stout aroma, chocolate, and light hops. In mouth, a nice classy coffee stout, with bitter chocolate, nutty, medium bodied. Bottle at Mondiale 2009.

Passable stout at Mondial 2009. Very common stout, without anything too interesting in characteristics.

gnoff (9190) - Mölndal, SWEDEN - APR 9, 2013
33 cl bottle thanks to Ingo! Sampled on April 8, 2013. Marked (BB?) 13.01.30, purchased late December 2012.
Dark reddish brown color, big brown head. Acidic, roasted scent, coffee as well, way too acidic. Acidic, roasted, thin taste, not pleasant. Thin mouthfeel, low bitterness.
Did not finish my pour.

jercraigs (9070) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 8, 2009
2009-06-05. Black body with a nice beige head that fades fast. (3+) Aroma has a good dose of dark roast that comes in waves. (6+) Flavour is lighter than expected, roasty highlights are bitter, but muted. Base malt offers little depth in support of the roast. Average palate feels thin for a stout. Okay. Bottle at Mondial 2009, Montreal

DuffMan (8318) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 10, 2010
Bottle. Pours a very dark chestnut brown with a moderate tan head that collapses to a persistent skim. Aroma is of burnt wheat crackers, like Triscuits that have been left in the oven too long. Flavour is very charred and ashy, with underlying bitter coffee and chocolate. The malts here are very burnt, and very bitter, and there is little sweetness to balance it out. ADDENDUM: Hah! I finished rating this, then proceeded to peel the label (yes, I’m a loser and keep all the labels) and read the Script on the front: "This smooth and creamy dark beer is skillfully conditioned to avoid bitterness...". I absolutely did not find this to be the case!

KyotoLefty (8138) - Kyoto, JAPAN - DEC 7, 2008
UPDATED: DEC 18, 2009 Hand pump at Beer Belly Higobashi. Keeps getting rich and more flavorful. Smooth and rich, with more of the same flavors listed last time. Becoming a top quality stout. Previous rating: Aroma of roasted barley, dark chocolate and cafe au lait. Rich and creamy, decent coffee and chocolate flavors, well roasted. Very nice, smooth body on the handpump. Seems to be getting better every time I have it. 7/3/7/4/15
