Opaque dark brown beer, little pale tan head. Light palate, a little dry. Medium dark malt, touch of coffee. Mild minerals. Dry finish. Pretty standard stuff but all right.

Lubiere (10455) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 18, 2009
A deep dark stout with a thin moka head. A nice coffee stout aroma, chocolate, and light hops. In mouth, a nice classy coffee stout, with bitter chocolate, nutty, medium bodied. Bottle at Mondiale 2009.

Ratman197 (10208) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - JUL 23, 2010
Bottle poured a clear dark brown with a small lingering tan head. Aromas of roasted malt, carmel, cocoa and light fruittiness. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of roasted malt, dark chocolate, earthiness and light vanilla with a smooth lingering roasty finish.

Passable stout at Mondial 2009. Very common stout, without anything too interesting in characteristics.

jercraigs (8070) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 8, 2009
2009-06-05. Black body with a nice beige head that fades fast. (3+) Aroma has a good dose of dark roast that comes in waves. (6+) Flavour is lighter than expected, roasty highlights are bitter, but muted. Base malt offers little depth in support of the roast. Average palate feels thin for a stout. Okay. Bottle at Mondial 2009, Montreal

gnoff (7979) - Mölndal, SWEDEN - APR 9, 2013
33 cl bottle thanks to Ingo! Sampled on April 8, 2013. Marked (BB?) 13.01.30, purchased late December 2012.
Dark reddish brown color, big brown head. Acidic, roasted scent, coffee as well, way too acidic. Acidic, roasted, thin taste, not pleasant. Thin mouthfeel, low bitterness.
Did not finish my pour.

DruncanVeasey (7316) - NUNEATON, CONF N, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - OCT 19, 2011
Keg(?), BeerFest Daisen, Japan, 23/09/11. Deep pitch with a sinking tan swell of foam. Attractive chocolatey aroma with mocha, ash, aniseed, maybe After Eights deep in the mix. Finely sieved, silky with a good chew of well-done malt, coffee splashes, milk chocolate and roasted fennel seed impressions. Has some of the coalsmoke and dark, compressed vegetal character of an English stout. Ichiban!

MesandSim (7118) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 10, 2009
A Mes rate: bottle at the Rake.
Black and opaque with a slight light beige collar. Massively smoky on the nose, more ashtray than anything. Lots of treacle too. Bloody awful in the mouth. Thick and chewy and cloying. Far too much burnt sugar. Sickly yet dry, close to undrinkable.
