buzzoven (72), Japan May 10, 2008 On tap @ Thrash Zone. Intense black body topped with dark brown froth. Strong whifff of vanilla and roasted cocao in the nose. Taste is divine. Velvety smooth with more of the vanilla making itself known. Not sure if this was cask aged, but tastes like it might have been. A worthy Imperial Stout.
TimE (1013), Tokyo, Japan Feb 3, 2008 Big creamy light brown head. Dark chocolate cake, cherries, maraschino cherries, dark chocolate nose. The body is soooooo smooooth and light. Unbelievably drinkable and dangerous given its 7%. Lingering dark chocolate cake finish. The first imperial stout session beer. Capa (665), Yokosuka, Japan Jan 26, 2008 Updated: Jan 27, 2008Draught at Thrash Zone. Dark brown/black with a deep tan head. Roasted malts, chocolate, light vanilla, some milk, and little smoke. Medium, easy drinking body. Roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, and some vanilla. Much like their stout, this isn’t a ground breaking imperial stout but it is a very solid entry and easy to down a few pints. I hope to have more of this before it’s gone.
