3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Translucent amber gold in color with the trademark creamy white head from Mishawaka. Goldings hops come on in the aroma, paired with an English toffee sweetness. Increased fresh hop bitterness unfolds in the flavor. Yeasty, biscuit-like on the backend. Reserved hop profile and sweetening all around, but it’s balanced, nonetheless. A little light. Crescent roll finish. Fairly enjoyable, but not dynamic.

Retired, wow. Took a bet on this 12oz bottle when I bought it from Super Liquor III, it must have been much older than I thought it was. Shared with robotopera. Hazy amber color. Thin off-white head. Decent bits of lace. A lot of caramel, spicy malt. Just a very light old hoppy citrusy spicy earthy taste. Tastes like it’s got an unfortunate amount of age on it. Medium-plus body. Light carbonation. More dry texture, with a spicy bite in the finish. Moderate sweet taste, light bitter, and a big spiciness. This tastes like it might have been a solid IPA fresh, but there’s no way to tell at this point. If only there was a date stamp!

Weak and underwhelming. The bitterness and hop quality of this beer is less than good. Light aroma of bread and grass.

I believe this beer was my introduction to microbrewed beer. I think they listed it at 6.4% ABV at the BrewPub. It’s been forever since I had it, but I remember it had a golden hue and a fair amount of bitterness for a rookie hophead. Lots of fun sharing pitchers of this after class with friends. Sadly, Mishawaka BrewCo is no more, so beware if you see this on shelves at your bottle shop, as it is no doubt well past its prime. At least grab it for the label and the memories, if you can get a deal.

1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20
I’m pretty sure we got a six pack that had gone bad because this resembled nothing that a pale ale brings to the table. If this was what the brewer intended to give us then this was the worst beer I’ve ever had.

Bottle: Poured a doodoo brown with off white head. Light hops aroma. Taste was butterscotch, light hops, a bit unstable and possible infected.

12 oz bottle. Pours bright golden in colour with very small white head. Decent floral hop aroma and taste. Very drinkable IPA, not super hoppy.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured a syrupy deep amber, not so much of a head. Excited to get this as an extra, but not really my kind of IPA. The nose was dominated by a malty-booze, coupled with the syrupy mouthfeel just wasn’t my jam, almost thick in a way. Got to take my review with a grain of salt, i’m completeley swayed by the west coast IPA, and it ruins me on other IPA’s, i tried to rate with that in mind.

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle with thanks to coyotehunter. Pours copper/brown with little head and aromas of sweet sugary malt and herbal hops. Flavor is horrid. Sweet brown sugar collides with a herbal and medicinal hops presence to produce an absolute trainwreck. There’s not much here that works.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Found this one bottled at a liquor store in St. John, Indiana, as part of a mix 12 pack of various beers from Indiana brewers. Hazy, medium reddish-brown pour, a thick, tan head, a nice balanced aroma with sweet malts and rosy hoppiness, balanced flavor, bitter but not offputting finish. Excellent.

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Copper-amber pour from a 12 oz bottle. Three fingers of solid, long lasting head. Lacing – it almost coats the glass as the beer goes down. Aroma of sweet malt – caramel and butterscotch – with a notable hoppiness. Solid IPA flavor – slightly sweetish start with a pleasant bitter hoppy finish. Not an extreme IPA but a damn good one.
