2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20
Head is good-ish, white and crusty on a golden beer. Sweet and fruity on the nose. Hints of Pear. Surprisingly bitter! Sorta strange. In fact. Very strange. It comes across like a peppery soap with a mildly chemical finish.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle:   Pale straw, very thick and hazy, moderate foamy white head, spotty lacing.   Soft floral, bready, and yeasty nose.   Little bit of a citrus twist to this one.   Rather citrusy and pithy up front, otherwise bready and yeasty, also doughy.   Not a big bright floral Tripel, moreso American but its not a strong overly done doughy version so often done in the states.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Citrusy finish, doughy, bready, yeasty.   Not too heavy, not a bright floral example like most Belgians, but its not a thick and over the top doughy example.   Decent example for an American made version.

Pacific northwest take on a tripel. Sampled from growler filled at the brewery. More malt-oriented and less carbonated than the typical Belgian tripel, with less zing from Belgian yeast than expected but more citrus than expected. As a beer, B+, as a Belgian tripel, B. That said, very drinkable, and quite good.

This one sports a hazyish, pale-golden body with a creamy and airy top. Sweet, yeast nose with chardonnay and oaky notes. Smooth cream ale mouthfeel with re-emergence of oaky and chardonnay flavors. Chewy bubblegum finish. A sessionable-tasting Tripel.
