Dusseldorf-Style Altbier. Our Amber ale is a wonderful compromise between the light and refreshing, and dark and full-flavored beers available today. Our Amber is clean, and like our Blonde ale, exhibits a crisp, lager-like character. The firm bitterness is balanced by the sweet, caramel and nutty malt character provided by the generous use of Munich, Vienna, and Pilsner malts. 43 IBU

~Bready aroma with caramel and toffee, raisin and chocolate. ~Pours a murky amber color with lasting small brownish white head. ~Bready flavor with strong raisiny woody notes that I dont really care for in this beer. Light caramel, earthy hops. Not very well balanced. ~ Medium bodied with medium CO2, Lingering raisiny woody finish. ~ There s some kind of mat or a certain mixture of malts that I dont care for. Could use some more hops to balance it out.

Pours a dark copper amber with a large lasting creamy beige head. Aroma and taste is of toasted caramel malt and grains, some grass notes, mildly fruity with a bitter finish on the end. Palate is a medium body with good carbonation. The finish is the same as taste with a good sweet toasted caramel malt and nutty flavor and a bitter ending for balance. Nothing really standout but overall a good drinking brew.

Pour out of 12 oz bottle, dark red pour with thin white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, toffee, slight grass, hints of spice. Taste is a mix of red fruits, slight caramel, toffee, spicy yeast, finishing sweet, slightly dry. Eh.

Nice hops and malt balance in the nose, but it and the foam disappears quickly. Very nice clear dark reddish brown colour. Initial taste has the hops up front. Toasty malt follows and lingers into the finish. Turns a bit bitter after other flavours have gone. Very nice So-Cal take on the style.

Bottle, shared with Smitty and Rockley. Dark copper amber with a thick frothy head. Aroma is low key and dull; just brothy cereals really. The palate amounts to the same, with plain lacklustre malts that fail to excite in any way. Dull dull dull.

650ml bottle pours amber in color with a finger and a half of white head that leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is grassy and grainy with some caramel and herbs. Taste is a caramel and grainy malt sweetness with a herbal grassy bitterness. Light to medium body with adequate carbonation. Certainly, an interesting brew that is worth trying at least once.
