Dusseldorf-Style Altbier. Our Amber ale is a wonderful compromise between the light and refreshing, and dark and full-flavored beers available today. Our Amber is clean, and like our Blonde ale, exhibits a crisp, lager-like character. The firm bitterness is balanced by the sweet, caramel and nutty malt character provided by the generous use of Munich, Vienna, and Pilsner malts. 43 IBU

draft. surprised this isn’t rating higher by people. I thought this was a well balanced smooth flavorfull amber. I’ll drink again someday.

Pours a clear reddish amber. Aroma is bready. Taste is slightly Sweet at the start followed by a crisp bitterness that rises from underneath an lingers overtaking any lingering malt balance. The result is a crisp dry finish. Nice pallet but a little bitter.

Bottle. Pours copper with a medium, off-white head. Very little aroma, just a hint of malts. Toasted malt flavor with hints of caramel and bread. A hint of grassy/earthy hops throughout. Pretty thin and one dimensional.

Pours light red with off white head. Nice light hop aroma with a hint of sweetness. Flavor is bisuity and a bit dank. No sweetness at all. Kind of strange. Finish is lightly clean with a bit more bisuit.

Great beer. Nice sweet start with a great hoppy finish. Really has a nice mouth feel. No head and little laceing is my only real complaint. Poured out of draft at tatoomoms.

At new Mission brewhouse in downtown SD. Pour 3/5 of flight. Third German interpretation in the range. Delicious caramel malts interact with huge hoppiness (especially for the style) to create a really good, balanced beer. Very herbal hop finish. Similar to Boston Lager in some ways, but way hoppier. Nice beer.
