COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dusseldorf-Style Altbier. Our Amber ale is a wonderful compromise between the light and refreshing, and dark and full-flavored beers available today. Our Amber is clean, and like our Blonde ale, exhibits a crisp, lager-like character. The firm bitterness is balanced by the sweet, caramel and nutty malt character provided by the generous use of Munich, Vienna, and Pilsner malts. 43 IBU

Draft at Tattooed Mom. Cloudy amber with a light foamy white head. Medium malt. Light toasted wheat flavors. Orange banana cookies. Some hop bite is present but not a major force. Reasonably full body for the style. Not too sweet. Smooth finish. Might be my palate right now but tastes good after a strong bitter stout.

12oz bottle in a stem glass. Pours amber with an off-white head. Aroma of pale and doughy malts with a decent amount of floral hops. Flavor the same. Average texture. Not a bad beer.

This was pretty tasty. On the hoppy side up front. Pretty orange color. The flavor in the body is a bit on the sweet side but it’s pretty tasty.

Bottle. Amber with a beige head. Aroma of bread crusts and nuts. Light bodied, getting towards watery. Mild caramel sweetness, spicy bitterness. Really rather empty before that finish, but pleasant and refreshing.

Bottle. Pours a clear light amber color with a moderate white head. Nose is very light - hint of malts, but too light to detect much of anything. Taste is a tad bitter, but has a slight malty sweetness to it. Taste, too, is quite light. Meh.

Pours copper with a very small head. Rich malty aroma, lots of toasty, and nutty malt. Tempting. Similar flavours, loads of nutty malt making for a very moreish drop. Low carbonation. Could be a bit higher.

I was going to pass on this until I realized it was an alt - clear medium amber- moderate lace - the nose is initially all Munich richness - very pleasant until some light vegetal and metallic (copper) notes show up - slight bummer - flavor is crisp and biscuity up front, but also slightly husky - moderate toasty vienna and sweet munich maltiness through the middle before a medium dry, medium bitter finish - lingering grain husks - much like the kolsch, this has promise, but it is troubled by a handful of minor flaws.

Bottle, a fitting follow-up to a Kölsch. Nose not stale but dank and a little vegetal, caramel with a heavy nutty component. Meaty. Pours a dark, hazy amber with a short beige head. Taste moderately dry with apparent Munich and nuts, caramel and light bitterness. Creamy fullish body. A little dulled, and not terribly successful w.r.t. a crisp lagery mouthfeel, but pleasant enough.
