2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20
A nice body, nice head, starts out like a very nice rich stout, but the "roasty" malt is just a little too toasty, with hints of burnt, which kills it for me.

Pours a three finger brown head that fades slowly leaving some lace. Black as midnight, no highlights. Good carbonation and heavy bodied. Baked chocolate and some coffee nose. Flavor is sweet baked chocolate and some black liquorice, the 9.8% ABV is hidden. Decent RIS. 12oz bottle from Gift Specialists Oceanside, California.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle poured a clear dark reddish brown nearly black with a lasting brown head. Aromas of roasted malt, bakers cocoa, carmel, light vanilla and light mocha. Palate was full bodied and smooth. Flavors of roasted malt, bitter chocolate, light coffee, light vanilla and a hint of anise with a smooth lingering roasty bitter chocolate finish.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark black pour from a bomber. Tan head that disappeared pretty fast. Sweet, roasted chocolate malt nose - nice! Lots of carbonation in the mouthfeel. Beautifully balanced sweetness and roasted chocolate and hop bitterness. Not too thick. Very nice on a chilly MN spring day.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Seriously roasty nose. Unbelievable intense smoke. I swear they threw a burnt log in the boil. Is this a BBQ marinade or a beer? Color viscous motor oil with a chocolate pudding head. Nothing subtle here. If you are into ashy chewy smoke you may love this. This is going to give me a headache. Weird IPA blasts through the middle. Bitter smoke and sweet hops? You will not forget this beer! No sweetness to speak of and extremely dry. Hardcore! Seems unfinished. I got to get one of these for my friend and see what he thinks. Not my cup of tea or should I say coffee. fuckin’ burnt to hell!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This one poured a medium to dark brown color with a tan head. Aroma was of burnt caramel, roasted malt, and small chocolate sweetness. Flavor was similar, light smoke in the finish and medium chocolate, but roasty enough to keep it from being too sweet. Nice Impy.
