Deep, pitch black, about 95% opaque with a thin, oily deep brown head that fades fairly quickly. Aroma of oak, vanilla, soy sauce, meat, licorice, mushrooms, tons of roasted malt and a bit of dark chocolate. Full-bodied; Nice chewy licorice and chocolate flavours at first with a nice roasty finish, a good warmth from alcohol and a pleasant lactic quality. Aftertaste shows a nice complexity with malt, caramel, earth, chocolate and a hint of vanilla and even rye noticeable. Overall, a very well crafted imperial stout with a range of flavours, a nice body, nice look and a good complexity. Well worth trying if you can find it! I only aged mine for half a year and it still turned out great. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Olive Tree Market Place in San Diego, California on 01-May-2012 for US$2.99 sampled at home the day after Thanksgiving on Black Friday, 23-November-2012.

In bottle at home. A black beer with a decent tan head. A fantastic aroma of chocolate, roasty malt, soy sauce, cacao nibs and alcohol. Similar flavours with moderate carbonation and an oily mouth-feel. Nicely bitter. Lovely!

Good stout but a little too much of a sweet coffee flavor that was oddly distracting. I know some people like that in their stouts but itís not for me. That being said, Iíd definitely enjoy drinking it again.

Draft at Khyber Pass. Opaque black pour with a fluffy tan head. Great thick chocolate stout. Some coffee, some burnt wood, some light black pepper, but mostly just creamy chocolate goodness. Way too smooth considering the high ABV. Iím impressed! Wonderful dark chocolate bomb!

Bomber from Discount. Pours an opaque black with a chocolate milk head. Nice sticky lacing. Aroma has bakerís chocolate, licorice and chocolate liqueur. Taste is of sweet brown sugar, expresso, bittersweet chocolate and lactose. Slightly rough and hints of alcohol. Nice combination of bitter and sweet after beginning more like a sweet stout. Solid base. Finishes with some length, and very bittersweet. A very, very nice roasty chocolatey stout with a lot of strength.

Happy international stout day! Nice black beer with 1/2 finger drak tan head. Aroma of sweet chocolate, coffee and roasted malts. Taste is sweet like a milk stout. Can not taste the high alcohol. Medium mouthfeel with good carbonation.

Bottle. Poured a black color with an average frothy brown head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted dark chocolate aroma. Medium to heavy toasted dark malty flavor with a medium to heavy dark sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is a solid beer.

Yes, big bad impy stout that is on style all the way. Had on tap at the bocktown monaca. Oily looking brew, reminds me of old worn out oil from my 73 plymouth duster 318. Big over the top stout impact. Difficult rototilling thing messing up mu buds. Alky is not well hidden, wew. Big long bitter sensations on the back of my throat will not gop away. Way too stong for any girly budded lager laver.
