4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
The draft that came to the table was very dark with almost no head. Aromas of coffee, chocolate, and roasted malt. Wonderful flavors of roasted malt, coffee, and sweet cocoa. I very muched enjoyed this full bodied stout.

Tap. Very dark with mocha head. Smells like dark roast coffee beans and liqueur. Nice toasty and sweet flavor. A little syrupy.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle: pours black with large brown head. Aroma is chocolatety, a little charred toast, roasted grain and molasses. Flavor is silky bitter-sweet chocolate with roast grain, some dark caramel and spent coffee. Palate is creamy and initial rather sweet but quickly balances with so growing bitters. Nice RIS, tasty and easy to sip down.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled. Poured deep brown with a shortish-lived dark brown head. The aroma picked up ashy, roasty black patent, dark chocolate, fig, and deeper chocolate liqueur malts.. warm and inviting.. light, fresh earthy hops and alcohol warmth around. The flavor found dry-roasted dark chocolate, vinous notes, and licorice at the core.. hot, peppery alcohol, scratchy roast, and earthy bitterness around.. very warm finish with residual boozage and roast. Heavier-bodied with moderate-plus carbonation on the palate.. roasty and quite smooth across the middle.. this grew on me as the drink progressed.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught Medium, dark beige-brown head over pitch-black beer. Coffee nose, dark chocolate, espresso or coffee drays. Sweet-bitter, roasted; good balance. Ends on good bitter chocolate. Well-bodied, hint at spirit, quite slick-oily, warming. Ah - this is Missions’ flagship brand; well done.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Black in color with low carbonation and very little in the way of head formation. Heavy on the roasted malt with lots of licorice and coffee, maybe some molasses, too. The flavor has a nice burnt sugar flavor to it as well as some toffee and molasses sweetness. Quite a bit of roast with a bit of coffee to break up the sweetness of the beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Appearance: typical RIS black with nice mocha colored head quickly dissipating. Aroma: strong chocolate aroma with touches of dark fruit. Taste: a tiniest touch of floral hops on the front leading into the main dark chocolate, some of those plum/dark fruit notes, finishing almost tobacco/coffee with mild lingering dry bitterness.
Palate: nice creamy, oily, full-bodied texture with medium range carbonation for the style. Overall: a pretty tasty RIS with nice body and decent balance. Just something in the aftertaste that I don’t love kind of like that tobacco flavor.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber from Bev4Less. Pours a rich deep black, light lacing of brown sugar colored foam. Aroma is thick of roasted malt, baker’s chocolate, and earthy, leathery notes. Taste is sweet and rich, almost like chocolate milk, up front, before fading to to a middling bitter, tinged with sweet and sour!, taste that pervades to the repetition of a bitter finish. Palate is lovely, medium body, oily-to-creamy texture, with soft carbonation and a long bitter finish that clings to the teeth and lips. Overall, better than I was expecting from Mission, and I’m happy to say it!
