COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The ancient legends that abound the Russian Imperial Stout of yore are filled with tempestuous romance, sinful thievery, and scurvy, too. So highly regarded was this historic recipe, the Russian Kings tried to keep it all to themselves. They failed. Today we bring you our own dastardly dark version, with a rich and roasty aroma, notes of plum and port and a velvety texture so luscious it just might make a grown man weep.

The pour is a deep dark black wit a very thin mocha head that fades into some spotty lacing. The aroma is a delightful blend of roast and something semi-sweet. The flavor has a very nice complexity and the body is thick and chewy as a beer that’s close to 10% should. This is certainly a Russian Imperial and does not disappoint!

Uploading old ratings that were missing comments. A pleasant surprise. Big stout with a smooth full palate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This is a great stout. The aromas consist of chocolate, liquorice, dark fruits, and just a bit hops. Tastes just like it smells. Pitch black with a tan/brown head that stuck around and left some decent lazing. Awesome brew.

Pours a solid black with a short brown head and lacing. It has a rich aroma of dark malt, chocolate, coffee, and some bourbon. The flavor is chocolate, coffee, and dark malt up front, with a bitter middle and slightly spicy aftertaste and mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at George Keeleys.. Pour is dark black with a nice tan head. Bitter chocolate, roasted malt, dark fruit, roasted malts on the nose. Taste is a nice balance between sweet and bitter.. the sweetness of dates/prunes and the bitterness of chocolates and light coffee. Slightly oily in mouth. Nice liquorice aftertaste. Interesting stout.

Serious big beer. Poured at a good temperature with a small, brown head that soon settled to a swirl and a ring and no lace. Color is an opaque brown black. Aroma is roast, cocoa, molasses, new leather, malt, and dark ripe fruit. Flavor’s similar to nose with cocoa coming out more along with bitterness that is just balanced by sweet and tang. Body is full and has the bitter points slightly rounded off. Finish is remarkably moderate in length and fairly easy. Alcohol is tamed. Very good brew!

A: Very dark brown, borderline black. Half an inch head that's a light brownish/reddish color. No lacing and no long lasting retention. S: Strong aroma of chocolate and a hint of malt. T: Chocolate notes aren't as strong at first, then they totally surprise you in the end. Taste some malt and a slight bitterness in the end. M: Somewhat heavy feeling. Not a long lasting taste, but I can feel the weight of the beer in my mouth. O: Not a bad stout, but I was hoping for more. Enjoyed the aroma and taste, but not the aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz. Opaque with a small spit of creamy bubbles. Aroma is cookie dough, espresso, blackberry, light citrus and herb. Taste is milk chocolate, evergreen resin, dark fruit, espresso, oats, light tart berry with cream, soy sauce and peppery citrus zest. Medium-heavy body is soft and smooth, with a medium carbonation and dryish with well hidden abv.

Pours a pitch black, very creamy looking, thin, dense head, not much lacing of the glass. Aroma is very sweet, with some dark fruits, toasted malts, and heavy coffee. Fantastic body to this beer. Lots of coffee and roasted flavors, well balanced with some bitterness, but not overly so. This is a great stout.
