12oz bottle in a snifter. Pours black with a lacy, tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee and chocolate, a little alcohol, and floral hops. Flavor the same. Thicker texture. Not a bad imperial stout.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Chuckaduck (490) - Kentucky, USA - JAN 18, 2013
Pours black with a thick, fluffy brown head. Aroma is sweet and malty; dark fruits, roasty, molasses, some chocolate. Flavor is roasty malts, dark fruits, some smoke, and some wine-like booziness. Chewy mouth feel. The alcohol is pretty well-hidden. Really nice overall.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 Elwood (2493) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - JAN 16, 2013
Serving: 22 oz. bottle. It pours black with an active dark brown head. Small with lots of CO2 bubbling about. The nose has notes of molasses, prune, raisin, smoke, and roasted malt. The flavor is a little vinous up front with some of those prune and raisin notes with smokey, roasted malt and slight burnt and ash notes on the back end. A medium to long ashy finish. Full bodied. Slightly warming on the way down, but the alcohol is well hidden otherwise.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Jrwhitney6 (117) - - JAN 8, 2013
Great beer. From tap, is dark with a minimal head. Nice aroma of coffee and roasted malt. Taste of some burnt dark chocolate, and very smooth. Excellent - and hides the high alcohol on the taste, but packs quite a kick when done.

Bottle. Pours a super thick and almost black color with a thin off-white head. Nose has some bitter chocolate notes in there with just a hint of licorice underneath. Taste is thick and toasty, with just a hint of toasting. Great brew.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 nuplastikk (3286) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 16, 2012
12oz bottle. Opaque black with a nice creamy deep rusty beige head. Creamy chocolate aroma, a touch of vanilla. Pretty solid Imperial Stout, not super hop forward, as you might expect/hope for from a West Coast brewery. Solid, respectable offering nonetheless. Quite drinkable, Has some nice dark fruit tones, De Coqish at times, mundane at others. A nice depth that doesn’t center on overbearing qualities.
