Our award winning Hefeweizen is one of the breweries most popular selections. Unlike the lemon-laden wheat beers that flood market today, Mission Hefeweizen is a true example of a classic Bavarian Hefeweizen - exhibiting a wonderful bouquet of clove, banana, pear, among other aromas and flavors which make this beer a refreshing and full flavored brew. Make no mistake Ė there is no fruit in this beer. The complex and flavorful character of our Hefeweizen is achieved by the authentic Bavarian yeast strain employed in its production. 15 IBU

Bottle. Pours hazy orange with no head. Aromas of sweet apple, Belgian yeast, and sour fruit/cherry. Flavors of Belgian yeast, slightly tart fruit, and banana. Eh. [865]

At new Mission brewhouse in downtown SD. Pour 2/5 of flight. Another German style attempt. Big bubble gum nose and initial flavor that slowly transforms into liquid banana. One other flavor element I canít place is present, and a little strange. A fine beer, but Iíd opt for the German classics over this one.

This brew delivers a very fresh taste of a fine American wheat ale with a fat malty backbone and a beautiful deep golden color. A little light on the head but tasty none the less.

Bottle shared by Butters at Butters Slutfest 2.0, Richmond, VA, 4.23.11. Pours a hazy straw color with large floating particles. Large creamy tan head. Aroma of wheat and faint fruity notes. The taste is wheat, tart citrus, cheesy notes, apples and a faint vegetal finish. Medium bodied. Weird.

Bottle from craft outlet. This beer was dissapointing. A very mild banana aroma with a hazy golden pour.Again mild / weak banana and spice in the taste. The mouthfeel was watery. Maybe I got a bad one, but it was very uninspiring.

bottle-pours lite orange not cloudy at all with a small fizzy white head around the rim of the glass. sweet nose of bananas, but seems overdone and without any complexity. seems to be a bit of mineral aspects in the nose as well-flavors are sweet, banana, lightly plastic, bubblegum, but again, no complexity. seems to be flat-body is thin and doesnt do anything for this beer. more an amercian wheat with the use of a hefe yeast strain. filtered to all hell. needs work!

Sampled on draft at Dís in Monroeville this beer poured a dark amber color with a medium sized white head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was light clove, faint citrus and almost butter. The flavor was fairly dry banana and clove with a bit of bread underneath. Short finish. Light body. Ok.

22 oz. Itís Fatherís today and unfortunately I had the displeasure of tasting this odd tasting brew. At first I thought it may just be stale, but no, itís just bad. Award winning? Really? Maybe at an amatuer homebrewing contest somewhere in a small town in North Dakota. Faint spicy nose and no head. Aroma does have a lemon and clove bite. Very watered down, and not complex at all.

Pours well enough but head quickly diminishes to nothing? This is a headless beer. I am not sure if this is the intention of Mission Brewery. Maybe their new mission should include making a better beer? Smooth but not a very delightful flavor. Actually does not have much flavor at all. Aroma is almost absent (do i have a cold?) no. I would be very disappointed to serve this to one of my best girls, she would make me feel shame and perhaps not allow me to caress her glorious butt-cheeks. How terrible that would be if I were to hold a world of promise of a beautiful night of listening to Louis Prima and enjoyment of beer and sweet butt-cheeks only to have it spoiled by a very lackluster beer.
