Our award winning Hefeweizen is one of the breweries most popular selections. Unlike the lemon-laden wheat beers that flood market today, Mission Hefeweizen is a true example of a classic Bavarian Hefeweizen - exhibiting a wonderful bouquet of clove, banana, pear, among other aromas and flavors which make this beer a refreshing and full flavored brew. Make no mistake – there is no fruit in this beer. The complex and flavorful character of our Hefeweizen is achieved by the authentic Bavarian yeast strain employed in its production. 15 IBU

Have had served in glass before but drinking this one straight from long neck bottle for review. Aroma sour with hints of fruit and yeast. Taste is sour and tangy with notes of sour fruit malts and yeast. Sorta a sour taste overall. Can not find a born on or best by date on bottle. Maybe I got these from a skunked case or maybe they are supposed to taste like this, IDK, but they are not to good. Have had a few other selections from this brewery including the IPA which was ok.

Everything is below average and on the whole it is difficult to not write a complete mess. 15 second head, much under carbonated, north american wheat beer flavor. As boring to write about as it is to drink.

Location: 12 oz bottle from State Line, 2/9/15

Aroma: The nose is citrus, yeast, and wheat, but with something slightly off
Appearance: An orange colored beer with a quick dissipating off-white head and mild, drippy lace
Flavor: Flavor-wise, this one has a saison yeast, spice, wheat, and some sweet malts
Palate: The body is light, with a lively-to-fizzy carbonation, and a mildly dry finish
Overall Impression: This wasn’t my favorite of the style, but it worked decently. I’ve certainly had many many better hefes. There is too much carbonation here. It is on the poorer side of the examples of this particular style.
