COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our India Pale Ale exhibits a complex hop aroma, largely due to the generous usage of Cascade and Centennial hops, as well as a subtle malt character from the various malts used to achieve the wonderful balance exhibited in a world-class IPA. San Diego has become world renown for the wonderful and flavorful beers produced here – and India Pale Ales are no exception. Our national award winning interpretation of the style reflects both the history of IPA and the American variation of this distinct beverage. We hope you enjoy it! 66 IBU

12 oz. bottle. Slightly cloudy light amber. In spite of description this IPA seems British to me. Not much aroma, and taste was mostly bitter rather than fruit/herbal.

bottle. hazy orange with a medium sized white head. orange citrus aroma. nice, cereal flavor malt backbone with a boatload of aroma/flavor hops. not overly bitter. no harshness from the hops creating a very smooth, easy to drink, highly hopped, flavorful ipa with a light sweetness. medium-light.

Bottle. Biscuity caramel malt and subtle citrus aroma. Slightly hazed gold-light-orange with a small off-white head. Fruity bready malt flavor with very subtle citrus hops flavor. Medium body, soft carbonation. A nice malt forward IPA.

This was a pretty good IPA yet the hops weren’t real aggressive. It’s good, but no real knockout. I’d buy the imperial version 95 times out of a 100. It’s that much superior.

Pours a golden orange color with an almost clear appearance, little cloudy with a 1 finger white head. The aroma is citrusy, earthy. The flavor is well balanced, at the beginning is malty with lemon, orange, grapefruit notes and ends up with a light hops flavor. As this beer warms up you can start feeling the hops more present but still, not so strong as other IPA’s. It’s a very well balanced IPA.

Decent, balanced IPA. Malt-forward with somewhat of an English-style slant. Cakey, bready sweetness. Earthy and yeasty. Pleasant hop flavors (sweet grass, light citrus) and aromas (flowers, hay). Hop aromas are somewhat restrained, but nicely in the background. Light to moderate bitterness.

Bottle at home. Pour is olden orange with a fluffy white head and good lacing. Citrusy, wheaty, bready, lemony, doughy, stale fruity aroma. Taste is husky, corny, light citrus, lemon peel, bready, a touch of wheat, biscuit, and straw with a light bitter finish. Medium body with medium-to-soft carbonation. Below average IPA.
