3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A solid DIPA. Pours a dark murky orange. Lots of spicy hop and vegetal aromas. This is mostly hoppy bitterness. Some sweetness... But it’s all about the warm and spicy hop. Bitter and good. A touch on the thin side.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
FROM NOTES: June 28, ’12
A: Poured an almost clear light copper with an off-white head.
A: A nose of orange and grapefruit with sweet caramel notes.
T: A candied dark fruit taste with caramel notes and some grapefruit. A clean and bitter aftertaste.
P: Moderate to heavy body with a slight carbonation.
O: Nice scent and body and the alcohol is well hidden, but wasn’t super delicious. Easy to drink and while I wouldn’t turn down another, I wouldn’t seek it out.

Lots of sweet resin, bitterness towards the back that has a lot of staying power.

Tried it in a bottle. Has a nice, piney and hoppy smell. Nice hoppy flavor as well. I mistakenly opened it and got busy. I don't suggest doing this. But good hoppy flavor.

Tap at stags head and pretty sure this was the beer that put me over edge to drunk town. Pours orange with piney nose. Tastes of pine, caramel, resin, herbal, and quite malty. Sweet and juicy finish.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: Deep dark dirty and hazy orange hued amber, small to moderate frothy tannish head, spotty lacing. Big citrusy nose, noticeable alcohol. Citrus peel is somewhat candied. Otherwise hoppy. Strong citrus peel, light sweetness, a little astringent, with lots of pith and hops. Slight caramel background, and some heat with it too. Body and mouthfeel are moderate. A touch rough on the exit, with more heat that lingers. This one is a bruiser for sure! A little fusel like on the finish, piney. A big one, that feels a little green and rough, but has enough malt base to make it somewhat balanced. Yeah, bruiser is right, KAPOW, right in the kisser!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear Golden Amber in color.
Smells more malty than hoppy, considering it's a DIPA.
Tastes creamy and wholesome at the get-go... Hard to imagine it carries a 9.2% ABV based on my first impressions, but then it quickly turns to a heavy, labor-some experience. This beer indeed boasts a high alcohol content, and towards the bottom of your glass, it's all you taste. Mouthfeel and finish are similar to after-burn of taking shots of bourbon or rye. Nevermind the initial flavors, the later half of the glass is how I'll remember this beer.
Overall, this beer needs work. It's probably best shared so you can enjoy the initial impressions, but not the chore of finishing the entire serving.

4.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Aroma: At first, there’s a small funky smell, then you get a sweet, hoppy smell.
Appearance: Pretty honey color, cloudy. Poured into a Dogfish Head Signature Glass. Small frothy cream colored head.
Taste: bitter, sweet, fruity, malt, warm spices.
Palate: starts bitter, then fruity, then leaves behind the bitter.
Overall: This beer is worth picking up! You will not regret it, it’s really good.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
From 355 ml bottle. Pours a great clear copper with a small but tight off-white head and moderate carbonation. Real flavour bomb in the nose with lots of tropical fruits - pawpaw, guava, lime, maybe a little mango - along with some pine needles. Big taste too, with a decent slap of piney hop bitterness up front that slips away to more tropical fruit, pepper, cinnamon and lemon. Lovely palate and beautifully balanced flavours. Great stuff.
