A style of beer curiously born on the foggy shores of Father Junipero Serra’s first founding mission. Our own vigorous entry is one rebellious IPA, quick on the trigger, and brimming with a bounty of hop ingenuity. This is a big, bold, brazen beer, a restless vision of a new America.

Not your typical ipa at all! In a good way! Aroma smells strongly if hops but isn't too overpowering. Great finish that tastes of clove. Head dissipates too quickly for my liking, but overall a great beer! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

5/6/13. 12oz bottle from Grassroots. Hazy orange pour with a small khaki head. Bold west coast hop aroma, lots of citrus and dank, with a touch of caramel. Rich bitter hop flavor with plenty of citrus, pine, and bits of tropical fruit and caramel. Lingering dry finish and maybe a hint of tartness. I dig it!

At just on cool and into a deep tulip. Sunny orange copper and bright as bright. Carbonation is fine and steady in its rise releasing to amosphere without hindrance as the head lasts little more than seconds after settling. Wickedly bitter, manky, forest floor hops and rubbery, burnt toast phenols play on the nose amongst a spicy kick of that alcohol. Quite soft on the palate. A little dirty in taste. Alcohol kicks like a mother; the hops ill-defined and melded into the sweet, sticky malt profile. Not much body to it. Well spiced, floral finish, quite medicinal. Not to good at all! The aroma is probably the least impressive part of this beer as the hops aren’t as present as everywhere else in the beer. A very tasty floral/bitter flavor and a great finish . Excellent.

Bottle from Slowbeer. Great taste, in the malty side. Aromas of liquorice, cherry, and caramel. Taste is sweet and bitter, very long length. Palate is syrupy, and full bodied. Amber, with a frothy head.

A decent IIPA. Pours a slightly cloudy dark orange with a sizable off white head. Nose is hops, somewhat piney and spicy. Flavor is similar, thought the hops are more subdued than I had expected. Overall, a good but not great offering in the style.

12oz bottle shared. Poured murky orange with a short lasting whiter head. Minimal lacing on the glass. Nice hoppy aroma grassy citrus. The flavor is not as strong as whAt you think for a dipa. More mellow than expected. Has some off sweetness in the middle, presuming its malt related. Overall not quite what I like for a dipa but ok otherwise.

Bottle. Clear copper with a fine white head that fades but laces well. Aroma of bread, earthy yeast, caramel, peaches, pine, kumquats, alcohol. Syrupy with low carbonation. Very sweet with peaches and oranges as well as caramel before a firm bitter finish. Pine lingers. Boozy. OK, but doesn’t offer a great deal for its strength except its strength.

330mL bottle. Pours deep golden with a very small white head and a faint fruit tingle like aroma. Amazing fruity/piney flavour with a massive sweetness that balances the bitterness well and hides the alcohol.

Dark amber with a large white head. Very sweet with caramel and a hint of citrus. Alcohol not well disguised. Not very hoppy.
